This study is to look into the effects of listening to SMT music produced by using the stimulation of musical expectancy violations on the improvement of brain concentration and activation as well as to investigate the increasing effects of SMT activity in music therapy by applying SMT activities to music therapy for patients with nonfluent aphasia. As a result, it was confirmed that general adults listening to SMT music could increase concentration and activation of the brain. In a study to know the increasing treatment effects of SMT activity in music therapy for patients with nonfluent aphasia, 10 patients with nonfluent aphasia were divided into a control group and experimental group, and the patients of the experimental group were given the additional task of listening to SMT music for 30 minutes every day. As a result of collecting the changes in the pre- and post- AQ (aphasia quotient) and the number of successfully-spoken-words in each session, and analyzing them through t-test and repeated measures ANOVA, it has been confirmed that the experimental group that performed the SMT activity significantly improved the language ability compared to the control group.

본 연구는 음악적 기대위반을 활용하여 제작된 SMT 음악의 청취가 뇌의 주의집중도 및 활성도 향 상에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 이러한 SMT 활동을 비유창성실어증 환자를 대상으로 하는 음악치료 현장에 적용해 봄으로써, 음악치료에서 SMT 활동이 치료효과 증대에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하는 연구이다. 그 결과 일반 성인의 SMT 음악 청취가 뇌의 주의집중도 및 활성도를 높일 수 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 또한 비유창성실어증 환자를 대상으로 하는 음악치료에서 SMT 활동이 치료효과 증대에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하는 연구에서는 비유창성실어증 환자 10명을 통제집단과 실험집단 으로 구분하여 음악치료를 실시하였고. 실험집단에게는 매일 30분씩 SMT 음악을 듣는 활동이 과제로 주어졌다. 사전·사후 실어증지수 및 매 세션 발화성공단어수의 변화를 수집하고, t-검정 및 반복측정 분산분석을 통해 분석한 결과 SMT 활동을 병행한 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 언어능력이 유의하게 향상되었음을 확인할 수 있었다.
