In the 21st century, environmental and climate challenges become essential issues. This study aims to respond to the global climate crisis and spread carbon neutrality through the case study of ESG management practices of Yuhan- Kimberly. The circular economy is an alternative economic model that pursues a sustainable environment through resource conservation and recycling. Despite its reputation for reducing carbon emissions and plastic use and practicing environmental management to achieve carbon neutrality, the questions have been raised about resource circulation issues in its major products and ESG washing in its actual environmental performance in terms of ESG management. In terms of circulator economy for sustainable development of Yuhan-Kimberly, the following suggestions were made. First, economic benefits such as improving competitiveness, reducing operating costs, and increasing sales will be achieved. Second, in terms of environmental benefits, sustainable resource utilization and greenhouse gas reduction can contribute to reducing resource consumption, minimizing waste, and protecting ecosystems. Third, the social benefits can increase through the cooperation and participation of stakeholders. Fourth, it is necessary to activate the policy of circulator economy with ESG management.

21세기는 환경과 기후의 문제가 인류를 위한 더 좋은 여건이 아니라 생존을 위해 반 드시 해결해야 할 필수 문제인 시대가 되었다. 본 연구는 유한킴벌리의 ESG 경영과 자원순환경제 중심의 실천 사례연구가 지구의 기후위기에 탄소중립을 달성하는데 기여 하기 위한 목적으로 확산 전파하고자 한다. 자원순환경제는 자원절약과 재활용 등을 통해 지속가능한 환경을 추구하는 경제모델의 대안으로 기후변화에 대한 해결책 중 하 나의 방안으로 제시하고 있다. 유한킴벌리는 탄소배출과 플라스틱 사용을 줄이고, 탄소중립을 위한 환경경영을 실 천한 점에서 높은 평가를 받는 평판에도 불구하고, ESG 경영차원에서 주요제품의 자원 순환 문제, 실제 환경성과에서 ESG 워싱에 대한 의문이 제기된 측면도 있다. 유한킴벌리의 지속가능한 발전을 위한 자원순환경제 측면에서 외국 사례와 비교하 여 제언을 제시하였다. 첫째, 경쟁력 향상, 운영비용 감소, 매출 증가 등 경제적 이익을 기대할 수 있다. 둘째, 환경적 이점 차원에서 지속가능 자원 활용, 온실가스 감축을 통 해 자원소비의 감소, 폐기물 최소화, 생태계 보호에 기여할 수 있다. 셋째, 사회적 이익 에 관한 것으로, 자원순환경제를 통해 이해관계자들의 협력 및 참여를 확대시킬 수 있 다. 넷째, 자원순환경제 활성화 정책을 ESG 경영으로 활성화할 필요가 있다.
