The COVID-19 has been a critical crisis to international trade business and actually many businesses have failed all over the world. Today the international trade business is facing many serious risks including pandemic disease and worldwide stagflation and they can destroy an entire business at once. This study is on the introduction of BCP(Business Continuity Plan) for international trade business. BCP is developing long-term plan for a business to keep ‘business as usual.’ Based upon BCP survey results of Korean and Chinese international trade businesses, we check possible problems in introducing BCP for a business and possible benefits out of BCP implementation. Analyzing the financial data of three PVC manufacturers in Korea and China for 2010-2022 period, Korea’s W Co. shows significant positive effects of business risk management and BCP against COVID-19 crisis. More serious study with more relevant data is needed for verifying the significant positive effects of BCP.

코로나 사태는 국제무역 비즈니스에 절체절명의 위기였다. 3년 가까운 팬데믹 코로나 재난 상황 중에 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁이 발발했고, 미중 갈등이 극단을 치닫고 있으며, 코로나 사태 이후 스태그플 레이션 상황까지 전개 되어 전 세계적으로 수많은 국제무역 비즈니스가 극심한 어려움을 겪고 있는바 비즈 니스의 존폐를 좌우하는 치명적인 위기에 대한 현명한 대처가 필요하다. 본 연구는 국제무역 비즈니스를 대상으로 하는 BCP(Business Continuity Plan 비즈니스 연속성 계획) 도입 필요성에 관한 연구인데, BCP는 코로나 사태와 같은 위기가 발생한 후에 비즈니스가 어떻게 ‘현상 유지(business as usual)’를 할 수 있느냐 는 장기 계획을 도모한다. 본 연구에서는 비즈니스를 대상으로 효과적이고 효율적인 BCP를 이론적으로 고찰 해 보고, 한국과 중국의 국제무역 비즈니스를 대상으로 하는 설문조사를 통해 BCP 도입의 필요성과 BCP 도 입 과정의 어려움 및 기대 효과를 검토했다. 한국 및 중국의 일부 국제무역 비즈니스의 재무 자료를 분석한 결과, 비즈니스의 리스크 관리 및 위기관리 시스템 운용이 경영 안정화에 긍정적인 영향을 주고 있음을 확인 할 수 있었다.
