The purpose of this study was to analyze the trail deterioration condition and to obtain information for the desirable maintenance and restoration of a trail in Deoksan Provincial Park. The physical characteristics of a trail were surveyed to a total of 101 site of 19.9m length. The average trail degree and width were found to be 10.7 and 1.7 respectively while the average bared trail width was 1.4m. Major deterioration types of trail were; rock exposed(13) and root exposed(53) in order of frequency. Deterioration classes of a trail were 0.26km, 0.78km and 2.13km for heavily deteriorated, middle and lightly deteriorated classes respectively with a deterioration rate of 15.9%.

덕산도립공원 내 주요 탐방로 9개 구간 19.9km를 대상으로 탐방로의 물리적 특성, 훼손정도 및 훼손유형의 조사를 수행하였다. 탐방로 의 물리적 특성 분석을 위하여 구간을 일정 간격으로 조사하는 고정조사법을 이용하여 총 101개 측점을 선정하였으며, 훼손이 발생한 지점을 전체적으로 조사하는 전체조사법을 이용하여 훼손정도와 훼손유형 분석을 수행하였다. 조사 결과, 탐방로의 물리적 특성은 평균경사 10.7°, 평균노폭 1.7m, 평균나지폭 1.4m로 조사되었고, 훼손정도는 ｢강｣ 구간이 0.26km, ｢중｣ 구간이 0.78km, ｢약｣ 구간이 2.13km로 조사되 어 전체구간 19.9km 대비 훼손비율은 15.9%로 분석되었다. 또한, 훼손유형은 노면침식이 41회, 뿌리노출 53회, 암석노출 13회, 노폭확대 13회 순으로 나타났다.
