A research analysis was conducted to minimize medication errors caused by Looks-alike and Sounds-alike (LASA) drugs among all pharmaceuticals listed in the domestic National Health Insurance Service's drug reimbursement and maximum reimbursement price list. Data from the National Health Insurance Service was utilized to identify Look-alike drugs, which have different drug substances but similar packaging and dosage labeling, and Sound-alike drugs, which have similar phonetic characteristics. These drugs were mapped with their respective ATC (Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical) codes for analysis. Among the total of 23,427 pharmaceuticals listed in the drug reimbursement and maximum reimbursement price list, there were 526 items (2.6%) identified as Looks-alike drugs with similar dosage labeling, and 656 items (3.23%) identified as Sounds-alike drugs with similar phonetic characteristics. Drugs within important therapeutic classes such as diabetes medications and gastrointestinal drugs, which have the potential for medication errors due to LASA issues, should establish guidelines for information sharing and product naming to minimize medication errors.

국내 건강보험심사평가원 자료인 약제급여목록및급여상한금액표에 등재된 전체 의약품 중 LASA로 인한 투약 오류 최소화를 위한 분석연구 건강보험심사평가원의 자료를 활용하여 서로 다른 약물의 용량표기 및 포장을 가진 looks-alike 의약품과 소리가 유사한 의약품 중 서로 다른 약효군인 sounds-alike 의약품을 ATC Code와 맵핑하여 분 석연구를 실시하였다. 약제급여목록및상한금액표에 등재된 전체 의약품 23,427 개 중 용량표기 유사 의약품인 looksalike는 526개(2.6%)이며, 음절 유사 의약품인 sounds-alike는 656개(3.2%)로 집계되었다. LASA로 인한 투약오류가 발 생할 가능성이 있는 주요 약효군은 당뇨약, 위장관약 등이며 투약오류 최소화를 위해 정보공유 및 의약품의 상품명 기재에 대한 가이드라인을 수립하여야 한다.
