In this study, we investigate the process of selecting vocabulary within 'Food and Beverage (｢食飮｣)' Section of Jaemulbo(『才物譜』), with a specific focus on examining the classification and arrangement order of vocabulary associated with dietary life. Initially, we identify differences in the arrangement of vocabulary across various editions. Our observation reveals that, generally, the vocabulary related to food and drink follows the sequence [General Terms - Main Dishes made with rice - Side Dishes - Condiments - Snacks - Favorite Foods]. Subsequently, through an analysis of cited sources, we find that approximately 10-13% of the entries, following different editions, provide proper citations, totaling 25-26 literature materials. Notably, our investigation confirms that the most frequently cited source is "The Book of Rites(『禮記』)," followed by "Compendium of Materia Medica(『本草綱目)," "Common Sayings (俗語)," and "Yeogeo-yuhae(『譯語類解』)" in descending order of frequency. This pattern of citation suggests that "Jaemulbo(『才物譜』)" extensively incorporates references from "The Book of Rites(『禮記』)," a representative classical text of the time, "Compendium of Materia Medica(『本草綱目)," actively used for its botanical information, as well as "Common Sayings(俗語)," and "Yeogeo-yuhae(『譯語類解』)," reflecting colloquial expressions and Chinese translations used during the contemporary era. This inclusive approach indicates an effort to faithfully capture the linguistic realities of the time in the 'Food and Beverage (｢食飮｣)' Section of Jaemulbo(『才物譜』). Finally, dictionaries and the classificatory glossaries (類解類 譯學書), which contain similar types of vocabulary as 'Food and Beverage (｢食飮｣)' Section of "Jaemulbo (『才物譜』)" ) compared and analyzed the vocabulary classification and arrangement order shown in. As a result, the characteristics and value of 『"Jaemulbo (『才物譜』)" can be said to be the comprehensiveness of the vocabulary included and the orderliness of the arrangement of lexical items.

이 연구에서는 『재물보(才物譜)』 ｢식음(食飮)｣에 수록된 어휘의 선정 배경을 고찰해보고, 식생활 관련 어휘의 분류와 배열 순서에 대해 검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 먼저 이본 간의 수록 어휘 배열의 차이를 파악하였으며, 대체로 [통칭-쌀로 만든 주식과 후식- 조미료-부식-기호식품]의 순서로 식음 어휘를 배열하여 수록하고 있음을 확인하였다. 다음으로 인용 출처로 밝힌 문헌을 조사하여 이본에 따라 대략 10~13%에 해당하는 표제항 만 출처를 밝히고 있으며, 인용 출처로 25~26개 문헌을 제시하고 있다는 사실을 확인하였다. 또 가장 출현 빈도가 높은 문헌은 『禮記』임을 확인하였으며, 그 다음으로는 『本草綱目』俗語, 『譯語類解』의 순서로 출현 빈도가 높았다. 이를 통해 『재물보』 ｢식음｣에는 당대 대표적인 예학서로 쓰인 『禮記』와 본초서로 적극 활용된 『本草綱目󰡕에 수록된 식생 활 관련 물명, 당시 사람들이 쓰던 俗語, 그리고 『譯語類解』의 漢語까지 두루 반영하고 있어서 당시의 언어 현실을 최대한 반영하려고 했음을 확인하였다. 끝으로 『재물보』 ｢식음｣과 비슷한 부류의 어휘를 수록하고 있는 자서류(字書類), 유해류 역학서(類解書), 물명 서(物名書)의 어휘 분류 및 배열 순서를 비교･분석하여 『재물보』의 특성과 가치가 수록 어휘의 망라성과 어휘항목 배열의 정연함임을 밝혔다.
