We looked at the ruins of Albawi on Mt. Magol, Dong-gu, Ulsan. The composition of the cup mark, its placement, the meaning of the connecting lines, and the location of the relics were analyzed from several environmental aspects. As a result, The purpose of making Albawi on Mt. Magol could be viewed from the perspective of trying to capture the earnest wish of the people of that era for water, hoping that the water of Okryucheon would be abundant as an important source of their lives. What we focused on here was the environmental aspect of Albawi, from the location of the cup mark consisting of the connecting lines to its overall direction along with its morphological aspects. As a result, it was discovered that the composition of Albawi, along with the flow of Okryucheon Stream, has a specific sense of place. thus It was clear that the Albawi of Mt. Magol, and especially the cup mark, could be another expression of water. It was confirmed that the purpose of creating the Albawi cup mark was the will to live of an ancient person who dreamed of ‘abundance’.

울산광역시 동구 남목의 북쪽에 있는 마골산 알바위 유적을 몇 가지 환경적 측면에서 살펴보 았다. 바위구멍의 구성과 배치의 측면과 연결 선각의 의미, 그리고 유적의 위치선정을 중심으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 마골산 알바위의 제작목적 중에는 최소한 그들 삶의 중요한 원천으로서 옥 류천의 물이 언제나 풍요롭기를 바라는, 물에 대한 그 시대 옥류천 일대 사람들의 간절한 염원 을 담아내려던 의지의 표현이라는 관점에서 바라볼 수 있었다. 여기서 중점적으로 살펴본 것은 알바위의 환경적 측면으로, 그것은 연결 선각으로 구성된 바 위구멍의 위치에서부터 형태적 측면이었으며, 그 전반적인 방향성에 관한 것이었다. 그 결과 알 바위의 바위구멍 구성은 대체로 옥류천 물의 흐름과 함께 특정의 장소성을 갖고 있다는 사실을 발견할 수 있었다. 따라서 마골산 알바위, 특히 바위구멍이 물의 또 다른 표현일 수 있다는 필자 나름의 관점을 분명히 하는 기회였으며, 같은 관점에서 바라보는 알바위 유적과 같은 바위구멍의 제작 의도 역 시‘풍요’를 꿈꾼 옛사람의 삶에 대한 의지의 다름 아니었음을 확인할 수 있었다.
