The purpose of this study is to figure out the general situation and problems of layoff crisis of Korean traditional music education after announcement of 2022 revised music curriculum (proposal) and to voice that best efforts should be taken to not go over such crisis again. The contents of the research, according to such purpose, is laid out in chronological order. In the first chapter, problems arising from the 2022 revised music education curriculum (proposal) and the research from department of education which the curriculum is based on are pointed out, and in the second chapter, the major clashes of this issue have been thoroughly dealt, and in the third chapter, the process through which the field of Korean traditional music (education) has responded to the crisis is covered in depth, in chronological order. All figures in Korean traditional music, including living cultural assets, held a cultural festival in an open space like Chungye plaza that no one ever experienced in the history of Korean traditional music education, in order to overcome the crisis. By hosting a cultural festival which had the characteristic of beautiful cultural event where those in the field of Korean traditional music can enjoy through traditional cultural performances prepared by talent donations of people in the field, the field of Korean traditional music (education) made every effort by coming together to convey the message to the large audience that Korean traditional music education should not be reduced or eliminated from public education. while the field of Korean traditional music (education) went through hardships from 2nd research which started on June 2022 until the announcement of 2022 final revised curriculum for music education, the intentions of Korean traditional music education were eventually accomplished under unified consent that Korean traditional music must be taught in school.

본 연구의 목적은 2022년 4월 중순, 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정(시안)이 발표되고 국악교육 퇴출 위기 사태를 겪으면서, 이러한 사태 발생의 중요 상황과 문제점들에 대해 전체적으로 파악해 보고, 이를 통해 이러한 위기 상황을 두 번 다시 겪지 않기 위한 최선의 노력을 기울여야 한다는 목소리를 내기 위함이다. 이러한 목적에 따른 연구 내용은 시간의 흐름 배열을 가장 염두에 두고 기술하였으며, 1장에서는 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정(시안)의 기초 연구가 되는 교육부 정책연구에서부터 비롯된 문제점들에 대해 지적하 였고, 2장에서는 시안의 주요 쟁점들을 면밀히 살펴보았으며, 3장에서는 국악(교육)계가 이러한 사태를 어떻게 대응해 나갔는지 그 과정을 순서대로 기술하였다. 무형문화유산 보유자들을 비롯해 전국의 모든 국악인들은 청계광장과 같이 열린 공간에서 국악교육의 역사에 있어서 그 이전에는 단 한 번도 경험한 바 없는 2022년 5월 15일 전 국악인 문화제를 개최하면서, 국악교육 위기 사태 극복을 위해 한데 모였다. 국악인들의 재능기부로 준비한 전통문화 공연을 우리 국악인 들 스스로 즐기는 아름다운 문화행사의 성격을 띤 전 국악인 문화축제로 개최하면서 우리 국악(교육)계는 온전히 하나가 되어 공교육 현장에서 국악교육이 축소되거나 퇴출 되어서는 안 된다는 메시지를 많은 사람들에게 전하고자 모든 노력을 다하였다. 이후 2022년 6월부터 시작된 2차 연구와 2022 개정 음악과 교육과정이 최종 확정 고시되기까지 국악(교 육)계는 여러 어려움을 겪었지만, 학교 교육에서 국악을 반드시 가르쳐야 한다는 뜻에 모두 하나가 되어 결국 국악계의 뜻이 관철되었다.
