This paper explores the implications and sustainable development strategy of night-time spectacles being developed for the purpose of revitalizing tourism in the region, focusing on the Gochang night-time open-air spectacle - “Gamsung Nongak Series", which means the Emotional Nongak Series, presented by the Society for Preservation Gochang Nongak, Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, south Korea, under the auspice of Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation. Gamsung Nongak Series can be classified by the category of “the night-time nature scene performances(Open-air night-time performances, 실경공연)”, which has long been the mainstream of domestic night-time performances. Although the Gamsung Nogak Series is much similar to the “the night-time nature scene performances”, it is judged that the content of the Gamsung Nonak Series is unique and original, which differentiates from the existing cases in the nation. The basis for this is that, firstly, the local community, led by the Soicity for Preservation of Gochang Nongak(SFPGN), has taken the initiative to use ``Hanok resources'' not simply as an alternative space for existing theaters, but as a motive and concept for the creation of the local cultural content that integrates the local characteristics around the Gochang area. The second point is the proximity of the reenactment space. Based on Gochang Nongak, which has been designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, the SFPGN produced five traditional musical pieces based on Gochang Nongak, which has been designated as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, with various regional narrative resources such as Gochang's nature, folk tales, and historical figures, and established a stable night-time performance management system. As a result, in light of the fact that most of the existing domestic night-time open-air shows were terminated early amid criticism that they were a waste of budget because they focused on creating outdoor scenery centered on “things to see” by advocating for overseas examples, specifically in China’s Image Series of Zhang Yimou, the case of Gochang-county’s local night-time spectacle, Gamsung Nogak Seories would be a best example showing a sustainable development strategy for “Korean-style night-time nature scene performance” that is more suited to the actual situation in Korea. In conclusion, when we define the concept of “a night-time nature scene performance for the promotion of local tourism”, as “a night-time spectacle presented by storytelling a local narrative against the backdrop of a local cultural heritage space,” the core of it is performed only at night. However, the significance of this study can be found in that it does not refer to performing acts at night, however, suggests that we should look for the characteristics of the place where the local cultural resources originate, that is, placeness.

전라북도문화관광재단이 주관하는 󰡔한옥자원 활용 야간상설공연󰡕 사업 산하 (사)고창농악보존회의 ‘감성농악시리즈’는 공연장르 분류 체계상, 국내 야간공연콘 텐츠의 주류를 이어온 “실경공연”과 맥락을 같이하고 있음에도 불구하고, 기존의 실경공연 류와 차별화되는 콘텐츠의 고유성과 독창성을 확보하고 있는 것으로 판 단된다. 그 근거는 첫째, 고창농악보존회가 중심이 된 지역공동체의 자발적 의지로 “한옥자원”을 단순히 기존 극장의 대안공간이 아닌, 고창 지역의 장소성이 집약된 공연콘텐츠 재현공간으로 접근한 점, 둘째, 유네스코무형문화유산으로 지정된 고창 농악을 근간으로 고창의 자연과 설화, 역사인물 등 다양한 지역 서사자원을 모티브 로 전통연희극 형태의 5 가지 고정 레퍼토리를 발굴하여 안정된 야간상설공연 체 계를 구축하고 있는 점을 들 수 있다. 이로써 기존의 국내 실경공연 대부분이 해외 사례를 표방하여 “볼거리” 중심의 야외경관 조성에 치중한 나머지 예산낭비에 그 쳤다는 비판 속에 조기 종료되었던 사실에 비추어, 고창군의 ‘감성농악시리즈’ 사 례는 한국의 실정에 보다 적합한 “한국형 실경극”의 지속가능한 발전 전략을 제시 하고 있다. 결론적으로, 실경공연의 개념을 “지역의 문화유산공간을 배경으로 지역 서사를 스토리텔링하여 상연하는 야간공연콘텐츠”로 정의할 때, 야간형 공연관광 콘텐츠의 핵심은 단지 야간이라는 시간대에 상연하는 공연행위를 지칭하는 것이 아니라, 지역문화자원의 발원지인 장소의 특성, 즉 장소성에서 찾아야할 것을 시사 하고 있는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
