This article explores two issues through the historical events of Cho Kwang-jo's "Honam exile" and "death in Neungju[Nungseong]". First, the relationship between Cho Kwang-jo and Yang Paeng-son is examined through a place called Neungju. Second, the character and meaning of Dohak[Neo-Confucian scholars] pursued by Cho Kwang-jo and Yang Paeng-son are reconstructed in conjunction with the historical development process of studying in Korea. The orientation of life pursued by Dohak does not just come from 'appropriateness' or 'strong righteousness'. We will confirm such a side through both hands, who continued to date Cho Kwang-jo with dough and kept his death. In this article, I discuss the thoughts and emotion of Dohak of Cho Kwang-jo and Yang Pa-son through two main perspectives: 'the Narrative of Memory' and 'the Rediscovery of Placeness'. The 'Narrative of Memory' can be said to be the 'Narrative of Reconstructed life'. In the process of sharing this, an unexpected contact with the other is created, and a new place is formed. The point is that the physical place, which was nothing more than a poor rural Neungju, is rediscovered as a 'symbolic space' that evokes the emotions of Cho Kwang-jo and Yang Pa-son to Confucian scholars in Joseon. These attempts are closely related to the agenda of the composition of a new locall studies to 'rediscover local humanistic emotions.
