The globalization phenomenon in the 21st century has brought about rapid social and cultural changes, and our society is changing from a mono-ethnic nation to a multicultural society due to the increase in international marriages and the increase in foreign workers. This multiculturalism has led to attempts to characterize and localize the cultures of various countries and the universality of world cultures. The Multicultural Family Support Center, one of the multicultural policy support projects, is an organization that provides stable settlement and comprehensive services for multicultural families. This study investigates the color preference of space for cultural exchange at the Multicultural Family Support Center. As a result of the color analysis and emotional vocabulary preference survey by space, most of the color schemes of the Multicultural Family Support Center are similar to the color schemes that consider the sensitivity of each space, and similar emotional vocabulary preferences are found. The spaces available to these multicultural families were not only planned as uniform spaces rather than emotionally sensitive designs, but also lacked spaces for information and cultural exchange. This study is a research on space color preferences for cultural exchange in a multicultural family support center, and it is expected to be an effective use of visual, emotional, and psychological effects if it is used as a basis for space composition considering various cultural sensitivities when planning space colors for multicultural people.

21세기 세계화 현상은 사회적・문화적으로 변화를 가져왔고, 국제결혼의 증가, 외국인 노동자의 증가 등 으로 우리 사회는 단일민족 국가에서 다문화 사회로 변 화하고 있다. 이러한 다문화는 다양한 국가의 지역화 시도, 문화의 특성화, 세계 문화의 보편성 시도의 계기 가 되었다. 다문화 정책 지원 사업 중 하나인 다문화가 족지원센터는 다문화 가족의 안정적인 정착과 종합적인 서비스를 제공하는 기관이다. 본 연구는 다문화가족지 원센터의 문화 교류를 위한 공간 색채 선호도 조사 연 구다. 연구 방법으로 공간별 색채 분석과 감성 어휘 선 호도 조사 결과, 다문화가족지원센터의 공간별 감성을 고려한 색채계획보다 대부분 유사색 배색, 비슷한 감성 어휘 선호도가 나타났다. 이러한 다문화 가족이 이용할 수 있는 공간은 감성적인 측면의 디자인보다는 획일적 인 공간으로 계획되어 있을 뿐만 아니라 정보 및 문화 교류를 위한 공간도 부족했다. 본 연구는 다문화가족지 원센터의 문화 교류를 위한 공간 색채 선호도 조사 연 구로, 다문화인의 공간 색채계획시 다양한 문화적 감 성을 고려한 공간구성의 기초 자료로 활용한다면 시각 적, 정서적, 심리적으로 효과적인 활용이 될 것으로 기대한다.
