A Study on the Architectural Changes of the Deageon ShinHakyo(Catholic University), Gwangju, Korea

Daegeon Theological Seminary opened in Ssangchon-dong, Gwangju in 1961 and has become the predecessor of Gwangju Catholic University today. Prior to the school's relocation to Naju in 1998, the seminary system of priestly education was conducted, but it is now used as the Catholic Gwangju Archdiocese Office. Daegun Seminary was designated as a registered cultural property in 2017 and 2018 in recognition of its unique school composition method and historical value that cannot be seen in other schools. Therefore, this study attempted to understand the history of the Catholic Gwangju Archdiocese, the architectural characteristics and the process of change in the main building, Henry Hall, Brady Hall, and Restaurant-dong.
