Employability serves as a pivotal bridge between the realm of education and vocational workforce. Hence, it is imperative for higher education institutions to formulate and execute strategies aimed at enhancing the employability of their students. However, in South Korea, research on employability is still relatively underdeveloped. This study aims to investigate the suitability of applying the CareerEDGE model to Korean universities, a model firmly established in the realms of employability research and applications within the higher education sector. Survey responses were collected from a cohort of 271 students enrolled in their third and fourth years at three Korean universities. Confirmatory factor analysis substantiates the appropriateness of the CareerEDGE model for Korean students. Subsequently, regression analysis reveals that all five constructs encompassed within the CareerEDGE model exert a significant influence on employability, with career development learning and emotional intelligence emerging as the most salient contributors. This outcome underscores the importance of psychological components, in conjunction with the conventional emphasis on skills and knowledge, in augmenting employability. In conclusion, the findings and implications of this study are anticipated to make substantive contributions to the enhancement of employability education in Korean universities and the fortification of career development initiatives for university students.
