The 2022 revised curriculum draft proposed strengthening AI software education to develop basic literacy and competencies. In secondary education, since the 2015 curriculum revision, informatics has been mandated, enabling systematic informatics education in middle and high schools. However, in elementary schools, the time allocated for teaching informatics-related content is limited to 17 class hours in practical arts courses, accounting for only 0.29% of the total elementary school hours. There is a primary need for the independent establishment of informatics-related subjects. As one solution, the introduction of such subjects led by school principals is proposed. This study examined the curriculum necessary for the principal-led introduction of informatics subjects and the process of developing textbooks for instruction. It also proposed directions for curriculum development and guidance for textbook development through a literature analysis of both domestic and international informatics education curricula and general principles. The results indicate that for the approval of new textbooks initiated by principals, a corresponding curriculum is required. It is necessary to develop a curriculum that investigates the key competencies needed for elementary informatics subjects and ensures coherence with secondary informatics subjects, based on the participation of field teachers.

2022 개정 교육과정 총론 시안에서는 미래 대응을 위한 교육과정 구성의 주요 방향 중 하나로 디지털 기초소양 강화를 제시하였으며, 기초소양과 역량을 함양하기 위해 AI 소프트웨어 교육을 강화하는 방향을 제시하였다. 중등은 2015 개정 교육과정에서 정보 과목이 필 수로 지정되어 중학교와 고등학교에서 체계적인 정보 관련 교육을 받을 수 있지만 초등학교에서 정보와 관련된 내용을 가르칠 수 있는 시간은 실과 교과에서 17차시, 전체 초등학교 시수의 0.29%에 불과하다. 우선적으로 정보 관련 교육을 할 수 있는 교과 독립이 필요하 지만, 이에 대한 해결 방안의 하나로 학교장 주도의 정보 관련 과목 개설이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 학교장 주도의 정보 관련 과목 개 설을 위해 필요한 교육과정과 이를 지도하기 위해 필요한 인정도서 개발 절차를 살펴보았다. 그리고 인정도서 개발 및 지도를 위한 교 육과정 구성의 방향을 국내외 정보 교육과정 및 총론 수준에서의 문헌 분석을 통해 제시하였다. 그 결과 학교장 신설 인정도서의 인정 신청을 위해서는 해당 도서가 사용될 교육과정이 필요하며, 초등학교 정보 교과에 필요한 핵심 역량에 대한 연구와, 현장 교사의 참여 를 바탕으로 한 중등 정보 교과와의 연계성을 확보한 교육과정을 개발할 필요가 있다.
