This study aimed to understand the needs among older adults with disabilities living in a rural area, and to derive strategies based on the needs. To achieve the purpose, this study conducted a survey targeting 108 clients enrolled to a welfare center for people with disabilities and 129 social work professionals. The result of this study revealed that transportation infrastructure is perceived as a critical issue in rural areas. In addition, health and disease issues due to aging were identified as significant life challenges, emphasizing the need for high-quality health, hygiene, and medical services. There was also a highlighted need for a dedicated communication space for the older adults with disabilities and the importance of conducting continuous basic surveys to understand needs among older adults with disabilities in a rural area. Based on these findings, this study proposed specific strategies and suggestions to improve the level of welfare of older adults with disabilities in a rural area. Based on these findings, this study suggested improving mobility accessibility, preparing effective health care and medical service provision strategies, areas for older adults with disabilities’ csocial interactions, and conducting surveys to explore their needs.

본 연구는 농촌지역에 거주하는 고령장애인의 생활 욕구 및 필요를 파악하고, 이를 토대로 효과적인 복 지 서비스 개선방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 장애인복지관 이용 고령장애인 108명과 사회복지 전문가 129 명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 농촌 지역의 교통 인프라는 고령장애인 뿐만 아니라 복지 서비 스 제공자들에게도 중요한 문제로 인식되었다. 또한, 고령으로 인한 건강 및 질병 문제가 가장 큰 생활 어려움으 로 지적되었으며, 이에 따른 질 높은 보건위생 및 의료 서비스 제공의 필요성이 강조되었다. 고령장애인을 위한 전용 소통 공간의 필요성, 그리고 지속적인 현황 및 욕구 파악을 위한 기본 실태조사의 중요성 또한 도출되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 이동접근성 개선, 효과적인 건강관리 및 의료 서비스 제공 전략 마련, 고 령장애인을 위한 소통공간, 기본 실태조사 수행 등의 대응방안을 제시하였다.
