초록

영어

This study analyzed data from 3,281 second-year college students in 2019 and 2021 to examine the differences in college life adaptation, suicidal ideation, and psychological counseling status before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis revealed a decrease in the percentage of students engaged in part-time employment and weekly alcohol consumption compared to the pre-COVID period, indicating reduced social experiences and interactions among college students. The increase in the percentage of students with suicidal ideation and those receiving psychological counseling outside of the college campus after the onset of COVID-19 reflects the negative impact of the changed environment on psychological stress. Furthermore, despite improvements in student satisfaction with academic life, major satisfaction, and career certainty, there was an increase in the percentage of students planning to take a leave of absence. Therefore, The author recommends activating college psychological counseling programs and proposing programs that can enhance social interactions and the sense of belonging among enrolled students.
