This study aims to suggest research topics and future directions for disastronomy in Korea. To accomplish this, this study reviews the significance of disastronomy, major disasters and changes in disaster management systems, and the core system model. As a result, this study suggests the following directions for disastronomy in Korea. First, in the area of value and philosophy of disaster management, research on disaster resilience of communities, disaster management in the era of climate crisis, poverty alleviation and sustainable disaster management is needed. Second, in the area of improving disaster management systems, research is needed on disaster management governance by local governments, budget management and investment for disaster management effectiveness, and critical infrastructure disaster management. Third, research on disaster management leadership is necessary. Fourth, in the area of devotion/dedication to disaster management values and philosophies, research is needed to strengthen the comprehensive capacity of communities to manage disasters, strengthening disaster management collaboration and preparedness, and disaster relief that increases the resilience of disaster victims. Fifth, in the area of disaster management expertise, research is needed on securing disaster management expertise and utilizing advanced technologies in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

이 연구는 한국의 재난관리학이 연구해야 할 주제와 향후 연구 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 재난관리학의 의의, 주요 재난과 재난관리체계의 변화, 코어시스템(core system) 모델에 대해 검토한다. 연구 결과, 이 연구에서는 한국의 재난관리학이 연구해야 할 방향을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 재난관리의 가치와 철학 영역에서는 공동체의 재난 회복탄력성, 기후위기 시대의 재난관리, 빈곤 퇴치와 지속가능한 재난관리 연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 재난관리 제도 개선 영역에서는 지방정부의 재난관 리 거버넌스, 재난관리 효과성을 위한 예산 관리 및 투자, 국가핵심기반 재난관리 연구가 필요하다. 셋째, 재난관리 리더십 확보를 위한 연구가 필요하다. 넷째, 재난관리 가치와 철학에 대한 헌신 영역에서는 재난관리 를 위한 공동체의 포괄적 역량 강화, 재난관리 협업과 대비 활동, 재난피해자의 회복탄력성을 높이는 재해구호 연구가 필요하다. 다섯째, 재난관리 전문성 영역에서는 재난관리 전문성 확보, 제4차 산업혁명 시대의 첨단기 술 활용에 대한 연구가 필요하다.
