In modern times, Leo Strauss in Germany and John Rawls in the United States are the representative thinkers who have proposed in-depth understanding of the concept of “political philosophy”. The former strove to answer the question of what political philosophy is in his book What is Political Philosophy, and the latter John Rawls tried to answer it in his series of works represented by A Theory of Justice. In recent years, the discussion on political philosophy has gained increasing attention in China, and the question of what political philosophy is has become a pre-issue that the Chinese academic circles have to think about. In view of this awareness, the paper points out that the current discussion of political philosophy in Chinese academic circles mainly focuses on three dimensions of politics, philosophy, and ethics. In order to figure out the Chinese answer to what political philosophy is, this paper compares and discriminates the claims and viewpoints of some representative scholars in view of the specific situation of Chinese scholars using the concept of political philosophy with the ideas of “discrimination” and “analysis”-- the idea of concept backcomb and difference analysis, and then discusses the sources of their theories, so as to clarify the Chinese scholars’ respective orientation when they expound political philosophy issues.

근현대에 와서 ‘정치철학'의 개념에 대한 비교적 대표적인 학자로는 독일의 레오 슈트라우스와 미국의 존 롤스가 있다. 한편, 레오 스트라우스는 그의 저서 ‘정치철학이란 무엇인가’에서 정치철학에 대한 개념을 명확히 하려고 시도하였다. 이후 존 롤스는 ‘정 의론’을 비롯하여 이와 관련한 시리즈를 펴내면서 동일한 문제에 대해 해답을 찾으려 노력하였다. 최근 몇 년 동안 중국에서도 정치철학에 대한 논의가 점점 뜨거워지면서 정치철학에 대한 개념 확립이 학계에서 주요 토론 주제가 되었다. 이러한 문제의식에 기초하여 본 연구에서는 현재 중국학계에서 논의되고 있는 정치철학의 개념을 정치학, 철학, 윤리학 의 세 가지 시각에서 분석하였다. 이러한 분석에서 ‘판별’과 ‘분석’의 정치철학 개념 정립에 입각하여 중국학자들의 주장과 관점을 비교분석한다. 이는 이후 중앙과 지방의 중국 특색의 정치행위에서 정치철학을 명확히 하는데 좋은 자료가 될 것이라 본다.

近现代对“政治哲学”概念理解比较有代表性的思想家有德国的列奥･施特劳斯和美国 的约翰･罗尔斯. 列奥･施特劳斯曾经试图在其著作《什么是政治哲学》一书中回答何谓 政治哲学这一问题, 其后约翰･罗尔斯在以《正义论》为代表的系列著作中也尝试解答此 问题. 近些年来, 有关政治哲学的讨论在中国愈发热烈, 何谓政治哲学这一问题也成为中国 学界政治哲学讨论不得不思考的一个前问题. 基于此问题意识, 文章指出目前中国学界对 政治哲学的讨论主要集中于政治学、哲学、伦理学三个维度. 为搞清楚何谓政治哲学的 中国答案, 文章按照“辨”与“析”—即概念爬梳与差异分析的思路, 立足于中国学者使用政 治哲学概念的具体情况, 对一些具有代表性学者的主张和观点提出了比较和辨析, 在此基 础之上对各自理论的来源进行了探讨, 以期廓清中国学者在言说政治哲学议题时各自的指向.
