This study aimed to examine the perception of multicultural youth and multicultural education by prospective youth leaders. To this end, metaphorical analysis of multicultural youth and multicultural education awareness was conducted on first to fourth graders of youth departments at P University in G-do, D University in D-metropolitan City, and D University in B-metropolitan City. As a result, prospective youth leaders recognized multicultural youth in the order of “youths who the same”, “different but the same youth”, “youths with special values” and “youths who live together”. The perception of multicultural education was followed by “education to live together”, “education to learn what you don't know”, “education to eliminate prejudice”, “education to prepare for” and “essential education”.

본 연구는 예비청소년지도자의 다문화청소년, 다문화교육 등 다문화인식을 알아 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 G도의 P대학, D광역시의 D대학, B광역시의 D대학의 청소년학과 1~4학년을 대상으로 다문화청소년, 다문화교육의 인식에 대한 은유 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 예비청소년지도자는 다문화청소년을 ‘같거나 다 르지 않은 청소년’, ‘다르지만 같은 청소년’, ‘특별한 가치를 가진 청소 년’, ‘함께 살아가는 청소년’의 순으로 인식하고 있었다. 다문화교육에 대한 인식은 ‘함께 살아가기 위한 교육’, ‘모르는 것을 배우는 교육’, ‘편견을 없애기 위한 교육’, ‘대비하기 위한 교육’, ‘필수적인 교육’의 순으로 나 타났다.
