The purpose of this study is to investigate the moderating effect of social support in the effect of drug users’ daily life stress on drug use. The subject of this study is a total of 218 drug users under probation at a probation office located in Seoul. Statistics used difference test (t-test, ANOVA), correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of the difference analysis, it was found that there was a difference in drug addiction according to general characteristics such as occupational status, religion, marital status, and age at which the drug was first introduced. Second, as a result of correlation analysis, drug addiction showed a positive correlation with daily life stress and a negative correlation with social support. Third, as a result of analyzing the moderating effect of social support, it was confirmed that social support has a moderating effect in the relationship between daily life stress and drug addiction. Finally, based on the results of this study, practical and policy implications for drug users were provided.

본 연구의 목적은 약물사용자의 일상생활스트레스가 약물사용에 미치는 영향에서 사회적 지지의 조절효과를 규명하는 데 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 총 218명으로 서울시 에 소재하는 보호관찰소에서 보호관찰을 받고 있는 약물사용자이다. 통계는 차이검정 (t-test, ANOVA), 상관분석, 다중회귀 분석을 사용하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같 다. 첫째, 차이분석 결과 본 연구대상의 직업 유무, 종교, 결혼 상태, 처음 약물을 접한 나이 등 일반적 특성에 따른 약물중독의 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 상관분석 결과 약물 중독은 일상생활스트레스와 정적인 상관관계를 보였고, 사회적 지지와 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 셋째, 사회적 지지의 조절효과 분석 결과 사회적 지지는 일상생활 스트레스와 약물중독간의 관계에서 조절효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 끝으로 본 연 구결과를 토대로 약물 사용자를 위한 실천적 및 정책적 함의를 제공하였다.
