The purpose of this paper is to propose a project class plan using proverbs to enhance the understanding of Korean culture and improve the expression abilities of elementary school students among the Korean-Chinese. We have examined research and scholars' opinions related to proverbs and analyzed textbooks used in Chinese schools for elementary, middle, and high school students in South Korea. Among the Korean language textbooks used in Chinese schools, there are a total of 22 volumes that include 292 proverbs. Proverbs are an important aspect of understanding Korean culture and language, but research on lesson plans related to them is insufficient. Therefore, this paper proposes a project-based lesson plan using animal (biological) proverbs for elementary school students among the Korean-Chinese. Utilizing proverbs in project-based lessons can assist elementary school students from the Korean-Chinese in understanding Korean culture and language, while also addressing the shortcomings of existing Korean language textbooks.

본고는 재중동포 초등학생을 대상으로 한국 문화의 이해도를 높이고 표현 능력을 함 양하는 방법으로 속담을 활용한 프로젝트 수업을 제안하는 데 목적을 둔다. 속담과 관 련된 논문과 학자들의 의견을 살펴보고 중국 내 재중동포 초, 중, 고등학교에서 사용하 는 교재를 검토 및 분석하였다. 재중동포 학교에서 사용하는 한국어 교재는 총 22권으 로 292개의 속담이 수록되어 있다. 속담은 한국 문화와 언어의 특성을 파악하는 데 중 요한 부분이지만 이와 관련된 수업 설계를 제시한 연구는 미흡하다. 이에 본고는 재중 동포 초등학생을 대상으로 동물(생물) 관련 속담을 활용한 프로젝트 수업 계획안을 제 안하였다. 속담을 활용한 프로젝트 수업은 재중동포 초등학생의 한국 문화 이해와 언 어 능력을 함양하는 데 도움을 제공하고 기존 한국어 교재의 부족한 점을 보완할 수 있을 것이다.
