The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trend of modern dance in Korea before and after COVID-19 by applying the topic modeling technique. To this end, a total of 274 papers were analyzed for about 22 years with the keyword "modern dance" from September 2001 to August 2023, and frequency analysis and LDA topic modeling were conducted on data related to the subject. The LDA results are as follows. Topic1: Psychological factors of modern dance students’ school life and career, Topic2: A study on exercise methods for improving physical ability of modern dance majors and dancers, Topic3: The development of modern dance and the philosophical and social position of male dancers, Topic4: Trend of modern dance research in Korea and case analysis using text mining and data analysis, Topic5: Dance change and its social context in modern and contemporary Korean history, Topic6: Comparison and analysis of the tendency and impromptu elements of postmodern and modern dance, Topic7: Characteristics and direction of modern dance education and creation based on culture and arts education, Topic8: Exploration of the change and pioneer of modern and traditional dance, Topic9: Kinematic and physiological characteristics and observation analysis of modern dance movement. As a result of the analysis of the correlation between topic share and year by section, Topic 1 showed a statistically right-up positive correlation, and Topic 2 showed a right-down negative correlation. Topic 3 to 9 showed no statistically significant correlation.

본 연구의 목적은 토픽모델링 기법을 적용하여 코로나19 전과 후 국내 현대무용의 연구동향을 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 2001년 9월부터 2023년 8월까지 ‘현대무용’을 키워드로 한 약 22년간 총 274편의 논문을 분석대상 으로 하였으며, 주제와 연관된 자료를 빈도 분석과 LDA 토픽모델링을 진행하였다. 이에 따른 결과는 다음과 같 다. Topic1: 현대무용 전공생의 학교생활 및 진로에 관한 심리적 요소, Topic2: 현대무용 전공자 및 무용수의 신 체능력 향상을 위한 운동법 연구, Topic3: 현대무용의 발전과 남성 무용수의 철학적, 사회적 위치, Topic4: 텍스 트 마이닝 및 데이터 분석을 활용한 국내 현대무용 연구동향과 사례 분석, Topic5: 한국 근현대사 내에서의 무용 변화와 그 사회적 맥락, Topic6: 포스트모던댄스와 모던댄스의 성향과 즉흥적 요소의 비교 및 분석, Topic7: 문화 예술교육 기반의 현대무용 교육과 창작의 특성 및 방향성, Topic8: 근대무용 및 전통춤의 변화와 선구자에 대한 탐색, Topic9: 현대무용 동작의 운동학적 및 생리학적 특성과 관람 분석으로 나타났다. 구간별 토픽 점유율과 연 도 간 상관관계 분석 결과, Topic1은 통계적으로 우상향하는 양의 상관관계를 나타냈으며, Topic2는 우하향하는 음의 상관관계가 나타났다. Topic 3-9는 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계가 나타나지 않았다.
