Overseas Chinese in Korea account for a relatively few overseas Chinese in the world. Compared with the research of overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia, previous scholars made less achievements and are not valued. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a more in-depth investigation of the Korean overseas Chinese society. The article takes Iksan Overseas Chinese as the entry point. In the case of few references, the author went to Iksan to borrow the household registration materials of overseas Chinese kept by Iksan Overseas Chinese Association, which has not been seen in the past research literature. Combined with the interviews with overseas Chinese in Iksan, we can explore and analyze the native place, economic development and education problems of overseas Chinese in Iksan. The article systematically examines the development history of overseas Chinese in Iksan, which can be seen that the development of overseas Chinese in Iksan is greatly affected by the external environment, and is closely related to the change of the position of Iksan in the Korean economy. Iksan as the top export processing zone in the Republic of Korea, Iksan overseas Chinese economy also developed rapidly. With the decline of Iksan's export status in Republic of Korea, the overseas Chinese in Yishan have also chosen to move elsewhere again. With the decline of Iksan, the overseas Chinese in Iksan also lost their vitality. Only when the mountain economy prospers again, will more overseas Chinese move to Iksan and inject new blood into the overseas Chinese in Iksan.

한국 화교는 세계 화교 중에서 비교적 적은 비중을 차지하고 있으며, 과거 학자들의 한국 화교에 관한 연구는 동남아시아 화교에 관한 연구와 비교할 때 성과가 적고 중요시되지 않는다. 따라서 한국 화교에 대한 보다 깊은 고찰이 필요하다. 글은 익산 화교에 착안하여 참고문헌이 적은 상황에서 필자는 익산에 가서 익산화교협회에서 보존하고 있는 화교 호적 자료를 대출하였는데, 이 자료들은 과거 문헌에서 볼 수 없는 것이다. 익산 화교에 대한 인터뷰와 결합하여 익산 화교의 인구 본적, 경제발전, 교육 문제를 탐구하고 분석할 수 있다. 논문은 익산 화교의 발전사를 체계적으로 고찰하였는데 익산 화교의 발전은 외부환경의 영향을 많이 받는다는 것을 알 수 있으며 더욱이 익산이 한국 경제에서 차지하는 지위의 변화와 밀접한 관련이 있다. 익산이 한국의 주요 수출가공지역이었을 때 익산 화교들의 경제도 비약적으로 발전했다. 익산의 수출 입지가 낮아짐에 따라 익산 화교들도 다시 다른 곳으로 이주하고 있다. 지역 경제가 쇠퇴하면서 익산 화교들도 활력을 잃었다. 익산 경제가 다시 번영해야만 더 많은 화교가 익산으로 이주하여 익산 화교들에게 신선한 피를 수혈할 수 있을 것이다.
