The purpose of this study is to examine the spatial characteristics of the school location by focusing on the differences in educational environments between groups according to the competition rate and accessibility of high schools when students and parents choose a school. As a result of variance analysis, there were differences between groups in total number of students, number of students per class, number of books per capita, school development fund, accessibility, number of subway stations, urban public facilities(factory), academy facilities, and sex crime rates, which were statistically significant. The results of the school competition rate generated in the school selection process are not only a problem of the school, but also a problem of the school location and educational environment surrounding the school.

본 연구의 목적은 학생과 학부모가 고등학교를 선택하는 과정에서 학교의 경쟁률과 접근성으로 나타나는 교육환경의 차이에 초점을 두어 학교입지의 공간 특성을 실증적으로 규명하는 것이다. 서 울시 교육감선발 후기고등학교 지원 결과인 학교 경쟁률과 학교 입지의 한 척도인 접근성에 관한 차이를 공간분석하고 유형화하여 분산분석을 통하여 그룹간 차이를 규명하였다. 연구분석결과, 접근 성과 경쟁률에 따른 학교군에서 통학거리, 총학생수, 학급당학생수, 1인당도서수, 학교발전기금, 접근 성, 지하철역개수, 도시공공시설(공장), 학원시설, 성범죄율에서 그룹간 차이가 나타났다. 고교 경쟁 률의 공간적 특성분포는 공간적 음의 자기상관을 나타내며, 인접한 고교간 경쟁을 공간적으로 확인 하였다. 또한, 국지적으로 공간을 분석하는 공간자기상관분석 결과를 통해 고교경쟁률에 관한 이산 적인 공간 형태를 확인하였다. 본 연구는 교육환경의 차이에 초점을 두어 공간특성을 규명함으로써 학교 지원에 대한 구체적인 기준을 마련하기 위한 기초자료를 제시하였다는데 의의가 있다.
