This paper analyzed the changes in the activity patterns of K-pop fandom as changes in crowd types through Elias Canetti's crowd theory in 'Crowds and Power' and the case of Wanna One fandom. As social and cultural interest in K-pop fandom increases, fandom research must be conducted from various angles. According to the results of this study, K-pop fandom's activities are divided into early, mid, and late periods through the artists' active periods. In accordance with Canetti's theory, we can mainly see a festival crowd enjoying abundant content, a chasing crowd working for the artist's success in the early days. And a banned crowd forming systematic discipline to maintain stable activity, a reversal crowd beating out the existing top fandom are mainly seen in the mid-term. In the latter period, an escape crowd leaving due to the disappearance of the artist is mainly shown. This study is significant in that it discovered the typicality of fandom activities by analyzing the flow of K-pop fandom from creation to extinction in terms of crowd type changes and presented another perspective on K-pop fandom culture research.

본 논문에서는 케이팝 팬덤의 시기별 활동 양상 변화를 워너원 팬덤 사례와 엘리아스 카네티의 『군중과 권력』 속 군중 이론 을 통해 군중의 형태 변화로 분석하는 연구를 진행하였다. 케이팝 팬덤에 대한 사회, 문화적 관심도가 높아지고 있는 만큼 팬 덤 연구가 다각도에서 진행될 필요성이 있다. 연구 결과에 따르면 케이팝 팬덤의 활동 시기를 아티스트의 활동 기간에 따라 초창기, 중반기, 후반기로 나누었을 때, 초창기에는 풍부하게 제공되는 콘텐츠를 누리는 축제 군중과 아티스트의 성공을 위해 노동하는 추적 군중 형태를, 중반기에는 안정적인 활동 유지를 위한 체계적인 규율이 형성되는 금지 군중과 기존 상위 팬덤의 자리를 탈취하는 역전 군중 형태 그리고 후반기에는 아티스트의 소멸로 인해 이탈하는 도주 군중의 형태를 주로 보인다는 것 을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 케이팝 팬덤의 생성부터 소멸까지의 과정을 군중의 형태 변화라는 관점에서 분석함으로써 팬덤 활동의 전형성을 발견하여 케이팝 팬덤 문화 연구의 또 다른 시각을 제시했다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.
