Whenever a dating violence incident occurs and is reported in the media, our society criticizes reaction of the police. It was mainly that the police reaction has not been active in terms of insufficient protection for victims and the occurrence of secondary crimes is remarkable. Although the argument for the revision of the Dating Violence Special Act continues, there is a position that the police's active reaction may not be resolved through the establishment of a legal system. To this end, this study set independent variables and parameters corresponding to environmental factors and personal belief factors based on Campbell's model to comprehensively verify the factors that affect police officers' attitudes toward dating violence. The specific results and policy suggestions were discussed in detail.

최근 데이트폭력 사건이 발생하여 언론에 보도될 때마다 우리 사회는 경찰의 안일 한 대응을 비판한다. 주로 피해자의 보호조치가 미흡하여 2차 범죄가 발생하게 되는 것 과 관련하여 경찰의 대응에 문제가 있다는 것이었다. 이에 따라 데이트폭력 특례법 개 정의 필요성에 대한 주장이 있지만 경찰이 적극 대응을 하기 위해서는 법 제도 마련만 으로는 부족할 것이며 오히려 경찰관 개인이 가지고 있는 데이트폭력이라는 범죄에 대 한 태도가 적극 대응 활동에 영향을 미칠 것이라는 주장이 있다. 이러한 배경에서 이 연구는 데이트폭력에 대한경찰관태도에영향을미치는요인을밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 이 연구는 1995년 소개된 캠벨(Campbell)의 모델을 기반으로 환경요인과 개인 신념요인에 해당하는독립변수와 매개변수를설정하여 국내 경찰관의 데이트폭력에 대 한 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 검증하였다. 구체적인 연구결과와정책에관한 제언을 본문에서 상세히 다루었다.
