This paper attempts to read Kim Si-seup's critical consciousness and world of orientation by analyzing 31 chans in Volume 19 of 『MaewoldangMunjip』. Chan is a genre that directly praises the object that the author thinks is excellent, and not only can understand Kim Si-seup's world of orientation immediately, but also his critical consciousness is included in Kim Si-seup's chan. Kim Si-seup's Chan can be divided into three categories. It is a praise for the person of loyalty, a praise for the world of ideals, and a praise for himself and the objects around him. In the praise of the loyal character, I was able to read the criticism of King Sejo in the scene where the relatives of the same sex emphasized what they should do and harshly criticized King Mu. In the praise of the ideal world, I could read Kim Si-seup's Neo-Confucian thought. In praise of himself and the surrounding objects, we could see the aspect of praising his life in seclusion in his later life and not stopping his ideological search. Kim Si-seup's literary thought came as a result of learning the knowledge of the time along with the background of the times from the late Goryeo and early Joseon. It is judged that Chan was also built as a result of studying historical books and Seongri-seo that were circulating at the time, along with the context from Lee Kyu-bo, Lee Je-hyun, and Kwon Geun. This is closely related to the 10 works in Volume 20 of 『Maewoldangmunjip』, so a close review is needed in the future.

본고는 『매월당문집』 권19에 있는 31편의 贊을 분석하여 김시습의 비 판의식과 지향세계를 읽어보고자 한다. 찬은 작자가 훌륭하다고 생각하 는 대상에 대해 직접적으로 찬미하는 갈래로서 김시습의 지향세계를 곧 바로 이해할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 김시습의 찬에는 그의 비판의식도 담 겨 있다고 판단했기 때문이다. 김시습의 찬은 총 세 부류로 나눌 수 있다. 충절의 인물에 대한 찬, 이상의 세계에 대한 찬, 자신과 주변 사물에 대한 찬이 그것이다. 충절 의 인물에 대한 찬에서는 동성의 친족이 마땅히 해야 할 일을 강조하고, 무왕을 신랄하게 비판하는 장면에서 세조에 대한 비판의식을 읽을 수 있었다. 이상의 세계에 대한 찬에서는 김시습의 성리학 사상을 읽을 수 있었는데, 주돈이⋅장재에서부터 주희에 이르는 성리학적 우주관을 받 아들이면서 氣와 理의 不離적 관계에 더욱 주목하고 그 세계에서 펼쳐 지는 유가의 無爲之治를 지향하였다. 자신과 주변 사물에 대한 찬에서 는 만년에 은거한 삶을 찬미하고 사상적 모색을 멈추지 않는 면모를 볼 수 있었다. 김시습의 문학 사상은 그 이전의 여말선초에서부터 내려오는 시대적 배경과 더불어 당대의 지식을 섭렵한 결과로서 나온 것이다. 찬 역시 앞 세대에서부터 이어지는 맥락과 더불어, 당대 유통되던 역사서와 성리서를 섭렵한 결과로 가능했던 것이라 판단된다. 이는 『매월당문집』 권20에 있는 10편의 傳과도 긴밀한 관계가 있는바, 추후 긴밀한 검토가 필요하다.
