This paper is an attempt to explain the Character of the Philosophy of Medicine in Nietzsche’s philosophy. If his philosophy has the Character of the Philosophy of Medicine, what is the basis for it? Can Nietzsche’s personal experience of illness and pain be the basis for medical philosophical characteristics? Could Nietzsche’s personal experience of illness and suffering be the basis for the Character of the Philosophy of Medicine? But human beings are nature with life. And human beings are nature that is constantly changing by the vitality inherent in life. Nature has the power of life to change itself, and this power represents human existence. But in the scientificization of medicine, humans are losing the existential characteristic of nature. From the perspective of medical philosophy, what is important is not only the scientific-medical diagnosis and heal of health and disease, but also the existential symptoms of feeling anxiety and fear of life in the pain accompanying disease. Nietzsche explains health and disease through the principle of life-nature-existence. This principle of health and disease is a value shared by Philosophy and Medicine. If so, wouldn’t philosophy and the thoughts of philosophers be applicable to the philosophy of medicine? The purpose of this paper is to answer this question.

본 논문은 니체의 철학에 담긴 의철학적 특징을 해명하기 위한 시도이다. 그의 철학이 의철학적 특징을 가지고 있다면 그 근거는 무엇일까? 병과 고통에 대한 니체의 개인적인 경험이 의철학적 특징의 토대가 될 수 있을까? 만약 건강과 병이 과학적이고 의학적인 관 점에서만 해명된다면, 인간의 자연 역시 그 대상이 될 수밖에 없을 것이다. 하지만 인간은 생명을 가진 자연이다. 그리고 인간은 생명 안에 내재한 생명력에 의해 끊임없이 변화하는 자연이다. 자연은 스스로 변화하는 생명의 힘을 가지고 있으며, 이 힘은 인간의 실존을 대 변한다. 의학의 과학화 속에서 인간은 자연이라는 실존적 특징을 상실하고 있다. 의철학의 관점에서 중요한 것은 건강과 병에 대한 과학적-의학적 진단과 치료뿐만 아니라, 병이 동 반한 고통 속에서 삶의 불안과 두려움을 느끼는 실존적 증상이다. 니체는 건강과 병을 생 명-자연-실존의 원리를 통해 설명한다. 건강과 병에 대한 이 원리는 철학과 의학이 함께 공유하는 가치이다. 그렇다면 철학과 철학자의 사상 역시 의철학에 적용될 수 있지 않을 까? 본 물음에 대답하는 것이 본 논문의 목적이다.
