This study was designed to analyze the impact of internal and external network management activities of multinational corporations overseas subsidiary on the degree of centralization of subsidiary operations and the subsidiary performance, as well as the degree of centralization of subsidiary operations on subsidiary performance. The survey was conducted on subsidiaries of multinational companies in the domestic and foreign shipbuilding equipment industry. An empirical analysis was conducted by collecting surveys from 187 employees from 56 companies in 17 countries. The main empirical analysis results of this study are as follows. First, it was confirmed that the degree of centralization of the operation of overseas subsidiaries of multinational companies had a positive (+) significant effect on the performance of subsidiaries. Second, the degree of in-house information system integration of multinational corporate subsidiaries has been shown to have a significant positive (+) effect on both the performance of subsidiaries as well as the degree of centralization of internal and external network management. Third, the diversity of the organization of subsidiaries of multinational corporations had a positive (+) significant impact on the degree of centralization of network management within subsidiaries and the performance of subsidiaries. Fourth, external factors such as external environmental sensitivity of multinational corporations' subsidiaries and sensitivity to regulatory changes had a limited impact on the degree of centralization of subsidiary operations and corporate performance. Finally, the excellence of multinational corporate subsidiaries' own capabilities was found to have a significant negative (-) effect only on the degree of centralization of external network management such as partner management.

본 연구는 다국적기업 해외자회사의 내/외부 네트워크 관리 활동 요인이 자회사 운영의 중앙집권화 정도와 자회사 성과에 미치는 영향과 함께 자회사 운영의 중앙집권화의 정도가 자회사 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 설계되었다. 설문조사는 국내·외 조선 기자재 산업의 다국적기업 자회사를 대상으로 진행하였다. 17개국 56개 사 187명의 직원으로부터 설문을 회수하여 실증분석을 실시 하였다. 본 연구의 주요 실증분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다국적기업 해외 자회사 운영의 중앙집권화 정도가 자회사 기업성과에 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었 다. 둘째, 다국적기업 자회사의 사내 정보시스템 통합 정도는 자회사 내·외부 네트워크 관리의 중앙집권화 정도는 물론, 자회사 성과 에도 모두 유의한 정(+)의 효과를 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다국적기업 자회사 조직구성의 다양성은 자회사 내부 네트워크 관리의 중앙집권화 정도와 자회사 성과에 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 넷째, 다국적기업 자회사의 외부 환경 민감성이나 규 제변화의 민감성과 같은 외부 관련 요인들이 자회사 운영의 중앙집권화 정도나 기업성과에 미치는 영향은 제한적이었다. 마지막으로 다국적기업 자회사 자체 역량의 우수성은, 협력업체 관리와 같은 외부 네트워크 관리의 중앙집권화 정도에만 유의한 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
