본 연구는 메타버스 플랫폼을 기반하여 초등학교 기악합주 프로그램 개발에 목적이 있다. 연구 방법은 문헌연구방법을 사용하였으며, 문헌자료를 분석하여 소규모 학급을 대상으로 한 기악합 주 프로그램을 개발하였다. 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등교과에 관한 메타버스를 활용한 수 업 사례가 충분하지 않다. 둘째, 온라인 공간에서 기악합주 수업은 소규모 학교에서 문제점을 극복하는데 이용될 수 있다. 셋째, 메타버스를 활용한 수업은 현재 아이들에게 학습활동에 몰입 과 흥미를 이끈다. 본 연구는 국내의 문헌을 중심으로 프로그램만을 개발하였기 때문에 프로그 램을 검증하는 후속 연구를 기대한다.
