The purpose of this study is to examine the current transmission patterns of turtle play in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do. The literature research method was used as the research method The Icheon Turtle Play Preservation Society's data collection, videos, and seminar materials, It was analyzed using books of the Joseon Dynasty, "Local Entertainment of Joseon," and interviews with function holders of the Turtle Play Preservation Association. The results of the study are as follows. First, Icheon Turtle Nori is a representative of turtle Nori that has been handed down in many regions Based on the survey contents, it shows the characteristics of being conducted in all areas of Icheon. This was so active that it could not be seen in other regions. Second, after a long time, they existed together in the lives of our people and played a role of healing. Based on this, our cultural heritage can be sympathized with the world, The possibility of enjoying was confirmed. Third, the turtle play in Icheon is enjoyed by both the performer and the audience, We can continue our vitality through activities that wish each other luck. Therefore, it is very meaningful to consider Icheon Turtle Play from a cultural heritage perspective. Turtle Nori, which has been a healing role for our people for a long time, As a cultural heritage, I can sympathize with the world, Various follow-up studies that can be enjoyed are needed.

본 연구는 경기도 이천 지역 거북놀이의 현재 전승 양상을 검토하는데, 그 목적이 있다. 연구 방법으로는 문헌 연구 방법을 사용하였으며, 이천 거북 놀이보존회 자료집 및 영상, 세미나 자 료, 조선시대 저서 ‘조선의 향토 오락’, 거북 놀이보존회 기능 보유자 인터뷰 등을 활용하여 분 석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이천 거북놀이는 여러 지역에서 전승되고 있는 거북 놀이 중에서도 대표성을 띠고 있고, 조사된 내용으로 보아 이천 전 지역에서 행해진 특징을 보 인다. 이러한 모습은 다른 지역에서는 볼 수 없을 정도로 활발한 전승을 보였다. 둘째, 오랜 시 간을 거쳐 우리 민족의 삶 속에 함께 존재하고 치유의 역할을 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 우리 문화 유산이 세계적으로 공감할 수 있고, 향유할 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다. 셋째, 이천의 거북놀 이는 연행자와 관객의 구분 없이 모두 즐기고 서로의 복을 빌어 주는 활동을 통해 그 생명력을 이어갈 수 있다. 따라서, 이천 거북놀이를 문화 유산적 시선으로 고찰하는 것은 매우 의의가 있 다. 오랜 시간을 거쳐 우리 민족에게 치유의 역할을 해온 거북놀이가 문화유산으로써 세계적으 로 공감할 수 있고, 향유할 수 있는 다양한 후속 연구가 필요하다.
