This study explores the experiences of Korean female beach volleyball players on conflict and sexual discrimination in wearing bikini uniforms. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with six beach volleyball players, and data was collected through transcription work after recording the interview. The collected data were analyzed according to the purpose of the study. As a result, female beach volleyball players in Korea experienced sexual discrimination and considered wearing uniforms against false prejudice from the outside. Specifically, first, it appeared as a sexist statement through unequal status, and second, a sense of loss for common goals. In particular, the misconception that was viewed only visually, not as a function of the uniform, came as a burden for players to wear uniforms, and the external evaluation rather than the game caused them to lose their goals. Third, it emerged as a conflict over wearing bikini uniforms. The conflict of wearing bikini uniforms was caused by the media and the conflict as a player. Finally, the players were disappointed with the government for not responding to these false social biases.

본 연구는 한국 여성 비치발리볼 선수들의 비키니 유니폼 착용에 대한 갈등과 성적차별에 대한 경험을 탐색한 연구이다. 이를 위해 6인의 비치발리볼 선수를 심층인터뷰를 진행 하였으며 인터뷰 녹취 후 전사작업을 통해 자료를 수집 하였다. 수집된 자료는 연구목적에 맞게 분석되었다. 그 결과 우리나라 여성 비치발리볼 선수들의 성적차별을 경험하였으 며 외부로부터 잘못된 편견에 대한 유니폼 착용을 고민하기도 하였다. 구체적으로는 첫째, 동등하지 않는 지위를 통한 성차별적 발언으로 나타났으며, 둘째, 공동목표에 대한 상실감으로 나타났다. 특히 유니폼의 기능이 아닌 시각적으로만 보는 잘못된 인식은 선수들로 하여금 유니폼 착용의 부담으로 다가왔으며 경기보다 외적인 평가는 선수들의 목표를 상실 하게도 하였다. 셋째, 비키니 유니폼 착용에 대한 갈등으로 나타났다. 비키니 유니폼에 대한 착용 갈등은 매스컴으로 인한 갈등과 선수로서의 갈등으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 선수들은 이러한 잘못된 사회적 편견에 대응하지 않은 협회나 관련기 관에 실망감을 가지고 있었다.
