The purpose of the study was to analyze the characteristic consumption behavior of fabric sports wear in middle aged man. for this research, the participants were selected by Third middle aged man. They were analyzed through the stage of transferring and encoding suggested in the grounded theory method, and then through the analysis of the life histories of Zilber(1998), as well as the stages of both area analysis technique and classification analysis by spradly(1980). in an analytical result. the first middle aged man. Park was satisfied with her body change through a physical activity of mountaineering and, when it comes to sportswear material, she judged its stretchiness and a quick absorbing & drying function by key elements. the second middle aged man. lee enjoyed a physical activity of bicycle, with respect to sportswear material, she preferred the proper proportion of nylon and polyester. The third middle aged man. kim was fascinated with a physical activity of golf and, as for sportswear material, she considered the elasticity and waterproofness as key elements.

본 연구의 목적은 중년 남성들이 스포츠웨어 속성추구에 따른 소비행동에 대해서 어떠한 특성이 있는지에 대해 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 J도에 거주하는 3명의 중년 남성들을 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 본 연구에서의 자료 수집은 연구 참여자를 대상으로 인터뷰를 통한 심층면담, 문서자료로 이루어졌다, 수집된 자료는 근거이론에서 제시하고 있는 전사와 부호화 단계를 거쳐, Zilber(1998)와 Spradly(1980)가 제시한 영역분석 및 분류분석의 두 가지 단계로 나누어 서 자료를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫 번째 중년 남성인 박00은 등산의 신체활동을 통해서 신체변화에 만족감을 얻고 있었 고, 스포츠웨어 소재에서는 신축성과 흡한속건성을 중요요소로 판단했다. 두 번째 중년 남성인 이00은 자전거의 신체활 동을 즐겼으며, 스포츠웨어 소재에서는 나일론(nylon)과 폴리에스텔(polyester)의 적절한 비율을 선호하였다. 세 번째 중년 남성인 김00은 골프라는 신체활동에 매력을 느꼈고, 스포츠웨어의 소재에서는 탄력성과 방수성을 중요요소로 판단했다.
