This study aims to analyse the non-verbal communication environment in YouTube broadcasts of North Korean defectors. For this purpose, the literature on the characteristics of North Korean defector broadcast content and non-verbal communication was reviewed. In this study, five one-person commentary channels were selected and the elements such as background image, communicator’s clothing and accessories, subtitles’ color and music, prop placement and location selection were analysed by the method of content analysis. The results showed that the YouTube broadcasts of North Korean defectors reveal their efforts to express their identity and values, form trust and empathy with viewers, and expand their social influence through the non-verbal communication environment. This study is meaningful in that it explores the influence of non-verbal communication environment on the characteristics and effects of YouTube broadcast content. However, this study also has limitations. In subsequent studies, it is hoped that more objective and reliable research results can be derived by comparing and analyzing various types of broadcast content, considering the interaction with other factors, and introducing quantitative analysis methods.

이 연구는 북한이탈주민의 유튜브 방송 콘텐츠에 나타난 비언어 커뮤니케이션 환경을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 북한이탈주민 방송 콘텐츠의 특성과 비언 어 커뮤니케이션에 관한 문헌을 검토하였다. 본 연구에서는 1인 논평 채널 5개를 선정 하여 내용 분석의 방법으로 배경 이미지, 커뮤니케이터의 의복과 장신구, 자막의 색상 과 음악, 소품 배치와 위치 선정 등의 요소를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 북한이탈주민의 유튜브 방송은 비언어 커뮤니케이션 환경을 통해 자신들의 정체성과 가치관을 표현하 고, 시청자와의 신뢰와 공감을 형성하며 사회적 영향력을 확대하려는 노력을 드러내고 있었다. 이 연구는 비언어 커뮤니케이션 환경이 유튜브 방송 콘텐츠의 특성과 효과에 미치는 영향에 대해 탐구한 점에서 의미가 있다. 그러나 이 연구에는 한계점도 존재한 다. 후속 연구에서는 다양한 형식의 방송 콘텐츠를 비교 분석하고 다른 요인들과의 상 호작용을 고려하며, 정량적인 분석 방법을 도입하여 보다 객관적이고 신뢰성 있는 연 구 결과를 도출할 수 있기를 바란다.
