Sonwa Choi Seok-hang is one of the four representative ministers of the late Joseon Dynasty who held government posts for 45 years from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. Sonwa's great-grandfather Choi Ki-nam experienced the ‘Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592’ in person, and his grandfather Choi Myung-gil also experienced the ‘the Chinese Invasion of Korea in 1627.’ and ‘ the Manchu war of 1636’in person. Even his father Choi Sang-ryang is also a figure related to the war. Sonwa indirectly experienced the accumulated war of generations while tracking and remembering their lives. And he was a person with a strong will to remember this. This article looked at Sonwa's Chinese poems and how he remembered the war through Chinese poetry and how he tried to connect with his life. Rememberance is the "mind's ability to store and withdraw information, experience, and knowledge" in a psychological sense. "Rememberance" is not necessarily a concept that can be obtained only through direct experience. Sonwa would have indirectly experienced war-related information through various channels through generations and formed Rememberance of the war. In fact, by examining the history of families directly related to Sonwa and looking at the bank president written by Sonwa, we could see if Sonwa was in an environment where it was easy to obtain information about the war. Sonwa's rememberance of the war was formed based on the continuous exposure and learning of the accumulated war experiences of relatives and families. In addition, Sonwa showed a willingness to actively remember past events, which was considered accurate with the purpose of this paper dealing with the Rememberance of the war with Sonwa. Based on this, this paper examined Sonwa's Rememberance of the war and his Chinese poem, and found that his attitude was different when he focused on his outer and inner sides when he revealed his Rememberance of the war in the poem. Through this, it was confirmed that Sonwa revealed his Rememberance of the war from various perspectives in Chinese poems.

손와 최석항은 17세기 후반에서 18세기 초반까지 45여 년간 관직에 있었 던 조선 후기 대표적인 소론의 4대신 가운데 한 명이다. 손와의 증조부 최기 남은 임진왜란을 직접 경험한 인물이며 그의 조부 최명길 역시 정묘·병자호 란을 직접 겪은 인물이다. 그의 아버지 최후량까지 또한 전란과 연관된 인물 이다. 손와는 그들의 삶을 추적·기억하면서 누적된 세대의 전란을 간접 경험 했다. 그리고 이를 기억하고자 하는 의지가 강했던 인물이었다. 이 글은 손 와의 한시를 대상으로 그가 한시를 통해서 전란을 어떻게 기억하는지, 어떤 방식으로 자기 삶과 연결하고자 했는지 그 양상을 살펴보았다. 기억은 심리학적인 의미로 ‘정보, 경험 및 지식을 저장하고 인출하는 마음 의 능력’이다. “기억”은 반드시 직접적인 경험을 통해서만 얻을 수 있는 개 념은 아니다. 손와는 세대를 거친 전란 관련 정보를 다양한 경로를 통해 간 접적으로 경험하며 전란에 대한 기억을 형성했을 것이다. 실제로 손와와 직 결된 가족들의 내력을 살피고 손와가 작성한 행장을 살펴봄으로써 손와가 전란에 대한 정보를 획득하기 쉬운 환경에 있었는지 알 수 있었다. 손와의 전란 기억은 누적된 친족·가족들의 전란 경험의 지속적인 노출과 학습을 기 반으로 형성되었다. 이에 더해 손와는 능동적으로 과거의 일을 기억하고자 하는 의지를 보였고 이는 손와의 전란 기억을 다루는 본고의 취지와 적확하 다고 보았다. 이를 바탕으로 본고는 전란에 대한 손와의 기억과 그의 한시를 연결 지어 살펴보았고 시에서 손와가 전란 기억을 드러낼 때 자신의 외면과 내면에 집 중할 때 그 태도가 달랐음을 파악했다. 이를 통해 손와가 한시에서 다양한 관점으로 전란에 대한 기억을 드러내었음을 확인할 수 있었다.
