This study aims to diagnose various issues in this period of the metaverse and seek legal and Christian ethical countermeasures to them. In addition, this research considers the fundamental difficulties derived from the metaverse and humanism and the responsibility given to the Korean church. In the metaverse world, users can fix their identities and reproduce their imagination symbolically in various ways beyond the social relationships or physical limitations of the real world. Avatar reflects each individual's personality and the consciousness of the reference group based on individual beliefs or values. When children and adolescents use avatars, they try to obtain vicarious satisfaction by considering them identical to their authentic selves. In modern society, anyone can freely participate in the metaverse, and popularization and activation, in which anyone can voice their voice, can be used negatively, such as expanding the surveillance society. Due to the rapid development of virtual reality devices and the development of artificial sensor technology, sex crimes in the metaverse provide an immersive experience that is difficult to distinguish from reality so that they can suffer similar damage to sex crimes in the real world. A continuous discussion on avatars' personalities, instrumental attributes, and responsibilities in the metaverse world is necessary. It is because what happens in cyberspace ultimately comes down to humans as the subject of responsibility. Artificial intelligence and metaverse are specifically media and means that can be beneficial depending on human control but can sometimes become dangerous fields. It is necessary to constantly reaffirm that human consciousness is a unique and sophisticated expression of identity and that it is different in dimension and class from artificial intelligence or avatars. Thus, this study proposes using it in scientific progress, such as artificial intelligence, chat GPT, metaverse, and avatar, establishing human subjectivity through content verification of information and integrating positive and negative views.

본 연구는 제4차 산업혁명과 더불어 메타버스(Metaverse)가 대중화되는 시대적 상 황에 주목하여 다양한 문제점들을 진단하고 이에 대한 법적, 기독교윤리적 대응방안을 모색하려는 데 목적을 둔다. 또한 메타버스와 휴머니즘(humanism) 사이에 파생되는 근본적인 난제들을 고찰하고 한국교회에 주어진 책무가 무엇인지를 살펴보고자 한다. 메타버스 세계에서는 개인의 정체성이 정해져 있지 않고 현실세계의 사회적 관계 나 육체적 한계를 뛰어넘어 사용자의 상상력을 다양하게 상징적으로 재현해낼 수 있 다. 아바타는 개인의 신념이나 가치관 등을 바탕으로 각자의 개성 및 준거집단의 의 식을 반영한다. 아동과 청소년들은 아바타를 사용할 때 아바타를 현실의 자아와 동일 하게 여김으로써 이를 통해 대리만족을 얻으려고 한다. 현대 사회는 누구나 자유롭게 메타버스에 참여할 수 있고 누구나 메타버스에서 자 신의 목소리를 낼 수 있는 대중화와 활성화가 감시사회 확장 등 부정적으로 이용될 수도 있다. 메타버스에서 성범죄는 가상현실 기기의 급속한 발전과 인공감각 기술 발달에 의해 현실과 구분하기 어려울 정도로 몰입감 높은 경험을 제공한다는 특징으로 인해 현실세계의 성범죄와 유사한 피해를 받을 수 있다. 메타버스 세계 안에서의 아바타의 인격성, 도구적 속성과 책임에 관한 지속적인 논 의가 필요하다. 왜냐하면 사이버 공간에서 일어나는 일도 결국 책임의 주체는 인간으 로 귀결되기 때문이다. 인공지능, 메타버스 등은 구체적으로 인간의 통제에 따라 유익 이 될 수도 있지만 때로는 위험한 장이 될 수도 있는 매체이자 수단이다. 인간의 의 식 작용은 매우 독특하면서도 정교한 정체성의 표현이라는 점에서 인공지능이나 아바 타 등의 작용과는 차원과 격이 다르다는 사실을 지속적으로 재확인해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 현재적 함의는 인공지능, 챗 GPT, 메타버스, 아바타 등 과학적 진보와 관련하여 어떻게 사용할 것인지의 방법론적인 문제, 정보들의 내용검증을 통한 인간 의 주체성 확립, 긍정적 견해와 부정적 견해를 아우르는 통전적 시각 등을 제시하는 것이다.
