In this study, I focused on the moments of tacit and silence that occur in an actor’s performance, and analyzed their creative potential based on Gilles Deleuze’s theory of art. Firstly, I discuss Deleuze’s concept of thought in his philosophy. I have summarized Gilles Deleuze’s art theory based on the activities of thought that can be recognized as acts of creation and the philosophy concerning the signs that serves as the materials for thought. Deleuze states that thought encounters its objects by chance, and from this fortuitous encounter, thought emerges as something necessary. Furthermore, he describes thought that occurs without any presuppositions as pure thought, which is made possible by the signs of art. Building upon this, in order to analyze the moments of tacit and silence, this study examines their dictionary definitions and defines the state of silence resulting from the expression of tacit as the “linguistic space,” providing an operational definition. The “linguistic space” is decoded as an artistic sign and imposes thought, while also becoming the involuntary material for thought for the audience. The “linguistic space” not only creates the environment for the occurrence of pure thought, but also becomes a heterogeneous event in itself. Deleuze interprets the existence of potentiality and latency inherent in heterogeneous events and the process of actualizing the latent potential as a creative process. Consequently, the subject encountering the heterogeneous event is not the actor performing, but rather the audience who witnesses the event and experiences the “linguistic space.” Therefore I have confirmed that the creative potential embedded in tacit and silence is manifested from the perspective of the audience. This study is significant as it applies Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy, which has not been extensively explored in the field of acting, as a research method to analyze tacit and silence within performance. In addition, this researcher intends to focus on re-examine what silence and silence mean in acting, and to find out what moments silence and silence occur and what they mean. In addition, I would like to view the invisible energy of silence and silence itself as "creative power" and discuss how the creative power is realized by whom.

이 연구에서는 배우의 연기에서 발생하는 무언과 침묵의 순간에 관심을 갖고, 그 순간이 갖고 있는 창 조력에 관해서 질 들뢰즈의 예술론을 바탕으로 접근하여 분석하였다. 먼저 질 들뢰즈의 철학 중 사유에 대해 논한다. 창조 행위로서 파악될 수 있는 사유 활동과 사유의 재료가 되는 기호들에 관한 주장들을 살펴보며 들뢰즈의 예술론을 정리하였다. 들뢰즈는 우연적인 순간에 사유의 대상을 마주치게 되며, 그 우연적인 마주침으로부터 사유가 발생하는데 이때의 사유는 필연적인 것이라고 한다. 또한 아무런 전제 없이 이루어지는 사유를 순수 사유라고 하며, 순수 사유가 가능하게 하는 것이 바로 예술의 기호들이라 고 한다. 이를 바탕으로 무언과 침묵의 순간을 분석하기 위해 이 연구에서는 무언과 침묵에 대해 사전적 정의를 살펴보고, 무언의 표현 방식으로 인해 발생하는 침묵의 상태를 “언어의 공간”이라고 조작적 정의 를 내렸다. “언어의 공간”은 예술의 기호로서 해독되고 사유를 강요한다. 또한 관객에게 비자발적으로 주 어지는 사유의 재료가 된다. “언어의 공간”은 순수 사유가 이루어지는 사유의 환경을 만들 뿐 아니라 그 자체가 하나의 이질적 사건이 된다. 들뢰즈는 이질적인 존재가 갖고 있는 가능성과 잠재성, 그리고 잠재 적인 것이 현실화되는 과정을 창조의 과정으로 해석한다. 이에 따르면 이질적 사건을 마주하는 주체는 연기를 하고 있는 배우가 아니라 그 사건을 목격하는 관객이며, 관객이 “언어의 공간”을 경험하는 것이 다. 이렇게 무언과 침묵이 갖고 있는 창조력은 관객의 입장에서 발현되는 것임을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 그동안 연기 예술 분야에서 잘 다루어지지 않은 질 들뢰즈의 철학을 연구 방법으로 적용하여 연기에서의 무언과 침묵을 분석했다는데 의의가 있다. 더불어 본 연구자는 연기에서 무언과 침묵이 각각 어떤 의미 인지 다시금 살펴보고, 무언과 침묵이 어떤 순간을 발생시키며 그것이 무슨 의미가 있는지 알아보는 것 에 집중하고자 한다. 또한 무언과 침묵 자체가 갖고 있는 보이지 않는 에너지를 ‘창조력’으로 보고 그 창 조력이 누구에 의해 어떻게 실현되는가를 논하고자 한다.
