The purpose of this study is to investigate the needs of parents for the parent training program in multicultural education. To achieve this, a survey was conducted to inquire about the experiences, perceived importance, willingness to participate, preferred time and methods of participation, preferred instructors, education content, and educational materials for the parent training program in multicultural education. The survey was conducted by a professional research institution, and recruited parents nationwide who have children attending elementary and/or middle schools. A total of 1,107 parents participated in this survey. The survey was conducted from April 17th to April 21st, 2023, utilizing online questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using IBM SPSS version 25.0. The key findings are as follows: Firstly, parents have very limited experience with the parent training program for multicultural education. Secondly, parents believe that the parent training program for multicultural education should be provided to all parents. Thirdly, parents show a preference for online lectures. Fourthly, parents prefer multicultural experts as instructors for the parent training. Fifthly, parents tend to prioritize practical content over theoretical or knowledge-based content in the training.

본 연구는 학부모들의 다문화교육 연수에 대한 요구를 조사하는 것을 목적으로 한 다. 이에 설문조사를 통해 학부모 다문화교육과 관련한 경험, 필요성 인식, 참여 의향, 선호하는 참여 시간과 방법, 선호하는 강사, 교육 내용과 교육 자료 등을 질문했다. 설 문조사는 전문 조사기관인 E사에 의뢰하여 초·중학교에 재학 중인 자녀를 둔 전국의 학 부모를 모집하였으며, 최종적으로 1,107명의 학부모가 설문조사에 참여했다. 조사는 2023년 4월 17일부터 4월 21일까지 설문지를 활용한 비대면 온라인 방식을 통해 이루 어졌고, 수집된 자료는 IBM SPSS 25.0 version을 활용하여 분석했다. 주요 결과는 다 음과 같다. 첫째, 학부모들의 다문화교육 연수 경험은 매우 부족하다. 둘째, 학부모들 은 전체 학부모 대상의 다문화교육 연수가 필요하다고 생각한다. 셋째, 학부모들은 온 라인 강의를 선호한다. 넷째, 학부모들은 다문화교육 연수의 강사로 다문화 전문가를 원한다. 다섯째, 연수의 내용으로는 이론이나 지식적 측면보다 실용적인 내용이 선호 된다.
