Buddhist Books published by temples in the Ganghwado Island, which served as a temporary capital during the Goryeo Dynasty cannot be confirmed. It notes that there is little evidence of Buddhist Books published in the area during the Joseon Dynasty. However, three Buddhist Books including the Myobeopyeonhwagyeong (Lotus Sutra), Siphyundam-yohae-eonhae and Bulseol-daebo-bumo-eunjunggyeong were published by Jeongsusa temple in Ganghwado Island from 1542 to 1548. These publications are very rare and considered to be separately published. Accordingly the continuous publication of these Buddhist Books by the same leaders is not well known. Meanwhile Myobeop yeonhwagyeong woodblocks in the Jeondeungsa temple near Jeongsusa temple were designated as a National treasure in 2016. Until now, it is unclear when the woodblocks were transferred to Jeondeungsa temple, but it was confirmed that the head of the Jeondeungsa temple transferred them by 1937. This was able to confirm from List of valuable properties of Joseon temples, Jeondeungbonmalsaji and newspaper news at the time. In summary, this paper provides a brief overview of Buddhist Books published by Jeongsusa temple in the Ganghwado Island and highlights some new findings related to Myobeop yeonhwagyeong woodblocks and the individuals involved in the publication of the three Buddhist Books.

고려시대 임시수도였던 강화지역의 사찰에서 간행된 불서는 거의 확인되지 않고, 조선시대에도 이 지역 사찰에서는 불서 간행사업이 거의 없었다. 다만 강화 정수사에서 1542년 6월부터 1548년 3월까지 5년 10개월에 걸쳐 ｢묘법연화경｣, ｢십현담요해언해｣, ｢불설대보부모은중경｣ 등 3종의 불서를 계속해서 간행한 사실이 확인된다. 그런데 이 3종의 인본은 거의 유일본일 정도로 매우 희귀하다. 그래서인지 지금까지 정수사에서 간행된 3종의 불서는 각각 간행된 것으로 보았고, 동일한 참여자들이 연속적으로 간행하였다는 사실은 논급된 바가 없다. 한편 정수사 인근의 전등사에 현전하는 ｢묘법연화경｣ 목판은 2016년에 보물로 지정되었다. 그런데 지금까지도 ｢묘법연화경｣ 목판이 언제부터 전등사에 보관되고 있었는지는 밝혀지지 않았다. 그러나 일제강점기 때 작성된 국내 사찰 재산목록의 전사본인 ｢조선사찰귀중재산목록｣과 ｢전등본말사지｣ 그리고 당시 신문 기사 등을 통해 전등사 주지가 1937년경에 목판을 전등사로 옮긴 사실을 확인하였다. 이 글에서는 이러한 새로운 사실과 함께 불서 3종의 간행 주도자와 참여자들의 지역적 특성, 번각 대본 등을 살펴 정수사 간행의 불서 3종의 정체성을 밝히고자 하였다.
