In the digital era, the Korean font design development industry is rapidly growing and actively being carried out, and education and industry are taking root as it is separated into specialized design areas. Hangeul, which plays a large role in linguistic communication, brings different image shapes depending on the shape and shape of letters, and also influences emotions in expression and delivery. It is also used as an element of design by evoking visual aesthetics. Professor Kim Min's team at Kookmin University's Institute of Social and Cultural Design and Honorary Professor Park Jae-gap of the Medical Museum of Seoul National University Hospital developed a digital font Hangeuljaemin font based on the Korean calligraphy handwriting of King Sunjong. The digital font Hangeuljaemin font was developed based on the Korean calligraphic handwriting of 'Imperial Edict on the Inauguration of Daehan Hospital (National Registered Cultural Property No. 449)'. It is necessary to develop a set of digital fonts capable of multilingual typing in order for Hangeuljaemin font to be used by many countries and people around the world, starting with Asia. This study investigated the current status of the font industry developed in the a set form same and suggested the necessity of developing digital fonts capable of multilingual typing. In addition, based on Hangeuljaemin3.0, Hangeuljaemin4.0 was completed by developing and design and Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese and Japanese Wamun, the three major East Asian countries of the Chinese character culture that influenced the history of the late Joseon Dynasty and the creation of Hangeul. Through this study, it is hoped that Hangeuljaemin font will widely spread the value of Korea's unique cultural heritage and convey deep meaning to communication. In the future, it is intended to lay the foundation for expansion and development into a digital font Hangeuljaemin font that can be used commonly all over the world, including Arabic.

디지털 시대에 한글 폰트 디자인 개발 산업은 급속 도로 성장하여 활발히 이루어지고 있으며 전문 디자인 영역으로 분리되어 교육과 산업이 자리 잡고 있다. 언 어적 의사소통에 큰 비중과 역할을 차지하는 한글은 글 자가 갖는 형태와 모양에 따라 서로 다른 이미지 형상 을 가져다주며 표현 및 전달에 있어 감성을 좌우하기도 하며 글자 형태가 갖는 조형적 특성은 그 외형 자체만 으로도 시각적인 심미성을 불러일으켜 디자인에서 하나 의 요소로 활용되기도 한다. 국민대학교 사회문화디자인연구소 김민 교수팀과 서 울대학교병원 의학박물관과 박재갑 명예교수는 구한말 시대 옛 한글의 조형적 아름다움과 한글 역사의 깊이를 보존하고 확산하고자 순종황제가 내린 ‘대한의원개원칙 서(국가등록문화재 제449)’의 한글 붓글씨 필체를 기반 으로 디지털 폰트 한글재민체를 개발하였다. 한글재민 체가 아시아를 중심으로 시작하여 전 세계의 많은 국가 와 사람들에게 사용되어질 수 있도록 하기 위하여 다국 어 타이핑이 가능한 한 벌의 디지털 폰트 개발이 필요 하다. 본 연구는 한 벌의 같은 형태로 개발되어 있는 폰트 산업의 현황을 조사하고 다국어 타이핑이 가능한 디지 털 폰트 개발의 필요성을 제시하였다. 또한 한글재민체 3.0에 한글의 창시와 구한말 시대 역사에 영향을 미친 한자문화권의 동아시아 3대 국가인 중국의 간체, 번체 와 일본의 와문(和文)을 개발하고 탑재하여 한글재민체 4.0을 완성하였다. 이 연구를 통해 한글재민체가 우리 나라 고유문화유산의 가치를 널리 확산하고 소통에 깊 은 의미를 전달하길 기대한다. 향후에는 아랍어까지 탑 재하는 등의 전 세계 공통으로 사용이 가능한 디지털 폰트 한글재민체로 확장 개발될 수 있도록 기반을 마련 하는 데 의의를 두고자 한다.
