This study was conducted to examine the research trends of college writing education for undergraduate international students and to obtain implications for related research to provide high-quality university writing education in the future. To this end, a total of 64 academic journal papers published from 2011 to 2022 were analyzed, focusing on research trends by publication year, research method, research topic, and keywords. As a result of the analysis, discussions on college writing education for undergraduate international students, which have been steadily studied since 2011, have grown quantitatively over the past 12 years. In terms of methodology of research, qualitative research was the most common at 54.7%, but quantitative and mixed research methods are also increasing to secure the reliability of writing education research. In terms of the subject matter of the study, the most common study was the supervised method and class case of writing education, and the least was the direction and research trend of writing education. As a result of keyword analysis, it was confirmed that they were interested in college writing education considering the characteristics of learners and that discussions were taking place in various areas. Based on the research results, the direction of university writing education research for undergraduates needs to establish a theoretical foundation and research methodology considering the characteristics of learners. In addition, we suggested various teaching methods using media, research on writing ethics, research on writing education in various genres, and research on writing instructors.

이 연구는 학부 유학생을 위한 대학 글쓰기 교육의 연구 동향을 살펴보고, 향후 질 높은 대학 글쓰기 교육을 제공하기 위해 관련 연구에 대한 시사점 을 얻고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2011년부터 2022년까지 발표된 총 64편의 학 술지 논문을 발행연도별, 연구방법별, 연구주제별, 키워드를 중심으로 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 2011년 이후 꾸준하게 이루어지던 학부 유학생 대상 대학 글쓰기 관련 논의는 지난 12년 동안 양적 성장을 이루었음을 확인하였다. 연 구 방법에서는 질적 연구가 54.7%로 가장 많았으나 글쓰기 교육 연구의 신 뢰성을 확보하고자 양적, 혼합 연구 방법도 증가하고 있다. 연구 주제별로는 ‘글쓰기 교육의 지도 방법 및 수업 사례’ 연구가 39.1%로 가장 많았고, ‘글쓰기 교육의 교재 구성 및 분석’이 20.3%로 나타났다. 현재 ‘글쓰기 교육 방향 및 연구 동향’관련 연구가 6.3%의 비율로 가장 적었다. 키워드 분석 결 과 학습자의 특성을 고려한 대학 글쓰기 교육에 관심을 가지며 다채로운 영역에서 논의가 이루어지고 있음을 확인하였다. 연구의 결과를 토대로 학부 유학생 대상 대학 글쓰기 교육 연구가 나아가 야 할 방향은 학습자의 특성을 반영한 이론적 토대 마련 및 연구 방법론 정립, 매체를 활용한 다양한 교수법 연구, 글쓰기 교육 평가 체제 마련을 위한 연구, 글쓰기 윤리의 연구 확대, 다양한 장르의 글쓰기 교육 연구, 학습자 요인을 고려한 글쓰기 사례 연구, 글쓰기 교수자에 대한 연구 등을 시사점으로 제안하였다.
