A Study on the Introduction of Air-Marshall System suitable for Korea

In response to the fear of air terrorism, security authorities around the globe have taken various precautions to prevent air terrorism. Advanced countries, including the United States, are tightening security on aircraft by introducing Air Marshall system. However, the Republic of Korea has not yet implemented Air Marshall system, and in order to meet the terms of the visa agreement with the United States in 2008, security personnel selected among the flight attendants have been designated and placed under the name of "in-flight sheriff". As the in-flight sheriff carries out both the crew's and security duties, there is doubt about its effectiveness. In this regard, this research suggests that the Republic of Korea should introduce Air Marshall system, which is currently being used by the air transport advanced countries, to effectively prepare for aviation security issues, and explored an Air Marshall system suitable for Korea. meaningful in its aim to maximize aviation security by raising awareness of aviation security and seeking Air Marshall systems that can prevent large-scale terrorist incidents in advance.
