This study aimed to explore the migration experiences of Korean-Vietnamese families living in Vietnam and how the social and cultural context of Vietnam affects the lives of Korean-Vietnamese families. Using narrative inquiry as a research method, 5 Vietnamese women and 4 Korean men who met each other while Korean men stayed in Vietnam for reasons such as travel, study abroad, work, and business were interviewed in Vietnam. The experiences of the Korean-Vietnamese family living in Vietnam were largely revealed in three areas: husband and wife relationship, parent and child relationship, and relationship with the local Vietnamese community and Korean community in Vietnam. It was found that the social and cultural context of Vietnam, where does not regard multicultural families as special and Vietnamese women can live independently, affects the lives of Korean-Vietnamese families positively. Based on the results of this study, practical implications for multicultural families were presented.

본 연구는 베트남에 거주하는 한베가족의 이주 경험을 탐색하고 베트남의 사회, 문 화적 맥락이 한베가족의 삶에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위 해 내러티브연구 방법을 사용하였다. 한국 남성이 여행, 유학, 직장, 사업 등의 이유로 베트남에 체류하다가 베트남 여성을 만나 한베가족을 이루어 살아가고 있는 4명의 한 국인 남성과 5명의 베트남 여성을 베트남 현지에서 인터뷰하였다. 베트남에 살고 있는 한베가족의 경험은 크게 부부관계, 부모·자녀관계, 이주민으로서 자국공동체와 정주민 과의 관계, 세 개의 영역에서 드러났다. 다문화가족이라는 특별한 사회적 시선을 받지 않고 베트남 여성의 주체적인 삶이 가능한 베트남의 사회, 문화적 맥락이 한베가족의 삶에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과에 기반하여 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.
