This study aims at investigating the association between the level of youths-parents bonding and gambling addiction of juvenile delinquents. In particular, the current study focuses on examining the relationship of high level of youth-parent bonding group and low level of youth-parent bonding group in terms of their gambling addition. Gambling addiction of youth can be categorized into problematic behaviors and distorted beliefs. In this regard, the present study highlights the fact that scholars need to compare the group mean differences of gambling addiction scores of high level of youth-parent bonding group and low level of youth-parent bonding group considering the differences of gambling addiction behaviors and gambling addiction beliefs. More importantly, social bonding theory of Travis Hirschi(1969) was applied to demonstrate the association between the level of attachment of youth-parents and gambling addiction in this study. Moreover this present study utilized 189 sample of juvenile delinquents who were under probation supervision in community in South Korea. Independent t-test result showed there is a statistically significant difference between the high level of youth-parent bonding group and the low level of youth-parent bonding group in terms of their gambling addiction belief. Further policy implications will be discussed.

청소년들의 확률형 아이템 게임 및 사행성 불법 도박 게임 등이 사이버 공간에서 성행하고 있다. 특히, 소액의 공짜 ‘꽁지머니’를 받고 우연히 시작하게 된 불법 도박이 청소년의 문제도 박 행동과 가출, 절도, 사기, 성매매 등의 크고 작은 비행 및 범죄행동으로 연결되는 상황이 심각한 사회문제로 대두되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 비행청소년 189명의 설문조사 데이터를 분 석하여 청소년-부모 유대관계가 도박중독 행동 및 도박중독 신념과 유의미한 관계를 갖고 있 는지 독립표본 t-test로 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 도박 행동은 청소년-부모 유대관계 집단 별 로 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 단, 도박 신념은 집단 별로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 청소년-부모 유대관계가 높은 비행청소년 집단이 상대적으로 더 왜곡 된 도박 신념 체계 점수가 유의미하게 낮다고 하겠다. 향후 비행청소년을 지도, 감독하는 보 호관찰 및 소년원 교육 현장에서 부모 교육 내에서 도박중독과 관련된 내용을 포함하면서 청 소년-부모 유대감을 기반으로 한 비행청소년 도박중독 예방 교정프로그램 개발이 필요하다 고 하겠다.
