Purpose : The global economy is experiencing a crisis after COVID-19. In order to overcome this crisis, the new economic bloc must play an important role. This study analyzed which the factors affected the economic growth of the BRICs and MINTs groups after COVID-19. Research design, data, methodology : The paper used panel data from 2004 to 2019. The variables include trade(export plus import) and FDI inward.BRICs were made up of Brazil, Russia, India, and China, while MINTS was made up of Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, Nigeria, and Türkiye. Panel analysis was conducted on these two groups. Results : Trade was found to have a positive effect on economic growth in Pooled, Fixed, Random models in the BRICs, MINTs and Total. In the case of foreign direct investment, In the pooled model, Bricks and Mints were found to have a positive effect on economic growth. Total was found to have a negative effect. In the cases of Fixed and Random model, it was shown statistically insignificant. Conclusions : This result shows that to overcome the global economic crisis, both BRICs and MINTS groups will have to increase trade. In order to increase trade volume, various trade barriers such as tariffs should be reduced and efforts should be made for free trade.

본 연구는 Covid 19로 인한 세계 교역량 감소 및 러시아와 우크라이나 전쟁을 통한 원자재 상 승 등의 원인으로 인하여 전 세계는 경기침체의 위기를 겪고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 이러한 위기를 이겨내기 위한 원동력으로서 BRICs 및 MINTs 국가들의 경제성장의 요인에 대한 분석 을 실시하였다. 분석을 위하여 2004년부터 2019년까지의 데이터를 이용하였고, 변수의 안정성 을 확인하기 위하여 Panel 단위근 분석을 실시하였다. 로그치환한 변수들이 단위근이 없음을 확인하여 실증분석을 실시하였다. 실증분석 결과 BRICs, MINTs 및 두 그룹을 합한 Total에서 무역은 경제성장에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만, 해외직접투자의 경우에는 단지 Pooled모형에서만 경제성장에 정의 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 실증분석이 설명하는 것은 경제성장을 위해서는 자유무역을 활성화 시켜야 한다는 것이다. BRICs와 MINTs 국가는 많은 인구를 가진 내수시장이 큰 경제권임에도 불구하고, 교역은 경제성장에 중요한 요인임을 확인할 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 국가들은 좀 더 적극적으로 교역에 임해야 할 것이다. 중국 및 인디아 등의 몇몇 국가들은 다양한 무역장벽을 실시하여 자유무역에 걸림돌이 되기도 한 다. BRICs 및 MINTs국가의 경우에는 경제정책이나 무역정책을 근시안 적으로 바라보지 말고 장기적인 안목으로 보아야 할 것이며, 좀 더 적극적으로 교역에 임하는 것이 자국에 이익이 됨을 이해 하여야 할 것이다.
