The purpose of this study was to analyse the correlation between on-the-water vertical jump (W-VJ) and dry-land vertical jump (L-VJ) related variables, and between vertical jump and anthropometric variables, and to present the basal data for performance improvement in water polo. Participants were 12 male university water polo players. Product-moment correlation coefficient (Pearson’s r) was calculated. As a result, strong correlation (r=.829, p<.01) was shown between absolute W-VJ (AW-VJ) and absolute L-VJ (AL-VJ). Significant strong correlation was also shown between pure W-VJ and pure L-VJ, and between compensated W-VJ and compensated L-VJ. Significant strong correlation was shown between AL-VJ and height, and between AL-VJ and arm length whereas no significant correlation was shown between AW-VJ and anthropometric variables. In conclusion, leg explosive power may be contributory to W-VJ. It is suggested that leg power enhancing programs focusing on ankle and knee joint, and trunk should be introduced in dry-land training with in-the-water skill training for performance improvement in water polo.

본 연구는 수중 및 지상수직점프 관련변인 사이의 상관과 수직점프와 인체계측변인 사이의 상관을 분석하여 수구 경기력 향상에 기초자료를 제공하고자 하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구참여자는 남자대학생 수구선수 12명이었으며, 분석대상 변인 사이의 적률상관계수(Pearson’s r)를 산출하였다. 연구결과 절대수중수직점프(AW-VJ)와 절대지상 수직점프(AL-VJ) 사이에 높은 상관을 보였으며(r=.829, p<.01), 순수수중수직점프와 순수지상수직점프 사이, 보정 수중수직점프와 보정지상수직점프 사이에도 유의하게 높은 상관을 보였다. AW-VJ와 유의한 상관을 보인 인체계측변 인은 없었으나, AL-VJ는 신장 및 상지장과 높은 상관을 나타내었다. 결론적으로 하지 순발력은 수중수직점프에 기여하 는 것으로 나타났으며, 수구경기력 향상을 위해서는 수중기술훈련과 함께 발목관절, 무릎관절, 체간을 중심으로 한 지상 에서의 하지 순발력 강화프로그램이 도입되어야 할 것이다.
