‘Immigrants Mission’ can be considered as a new mission paradigm in Korea by observing it with the characteristics of new paradigm given in various paradigm theories and the changing immigrants mission environment. In accordance with the paradigm theories of Khun, Kung, Bosch and several others, immigrants mission paradigm matches well with the rising of immigrants gatherings in Korean churches. The immigrants mission paradigm existed as a root under the ground before the appearance of the plant. The new mission paradigm is not a replacement of but a supplement to the existing mission paradigm, and both can co-exist. The constant increase of churches and mission centers involved in immigrants mission, designation of the immigrants mission department in various denominational mission organization, specifying policies and direction of through forum or seminar, training of potential missionary and developing immigration theology and publishing through journal shows that the new mission paradigm is at work. With the consideration of the paradigm theories and present mission activities, this paper argues that immigrants mission is being established as a mission paradigm of Korea christianity.

국내 이주민 선교는 한국 기독교 선교의 새로운 선교 패러다임으로 부 상하고 있다. 이는 토마스 쿤(Thomas S. Kuhn), 한스 큉(Hans Küng) 그 리고 데이빗 보쉬(David Bosch) 등의 여러 학자들이 제시하는 새로운 패러 다임 출현의 특징에 부합하고, 현재 진행되어가는 국내 이주민 선교의 현 황에서도 나타나고 있다. 이주민 선교 패러다임은 선교를 시작한 초기부터 맹아(萌芽) 상태로 존재해오다, 다양한 이주민 유입과 증가라는 변화에 맞 춰 새로운 선교 방향과 기준을 제시하며, 현재의 ‘가는’ 선교 패러다임을 보 완하고, 이와 병행을 할 수 있는 국내 타문화권 선교 패러다임으로 등장하 고 있다. 현재 국내 이주민 선교를 담당하는 교회와 단체의 수가 지속적으 로 증가하고 있고, 각 교단들의 이주민 선교 협의회 설립과 정책의 구체화, 포럼과 세미나를 통한 이주민 선교 방향 모색, 전문 훈련기관을 통한 이주 민 선교사 육성 그리고 이주민 선교 관련 연구와 이주민 신학 발전의 노력 등이 일어나고 있다. 이런 현황 역시 국내 이주민 선교가 하나의 선교 패러 다임으로 자리매김해 나가고 있음을 잘 보여주고 있다.
