This paper aims to examine how female writers begin their creative activities within the modern literary system and the process of forming their own identity as writers. In particular, it is targeting Taiko Hirabayashi, a proletarian writer. Her reviews and literary works were analyzed that Taiko’s literature started as a literature of possibilities to bridge the gender gap from its early days be specifically Hirabayashi analyzed a series of works such as Taiko’s novel “Star of the Proletariat” (1931) and the sequel “The Proletarian Woman” (1932). It was intended to examine how Taiko’s perception of “female writers” was embodied in detail, and to shed light on the literary world of a female writer named Taiko Hirabayashi from a gender perspective. Taiko Hirabayashi first turned to female writers of the same sex, not male writers, and criticized them with an insider’s eye, and found that the two works embody the images of “proletarian literature” and “proletarian women” based on reality．

본고는 여성작가가 근대의 문학제도 안에서 어떻게 창작 활동을 시작하고, 작가 의 식을 형성해 나가는지 그 과정을 고찰하려는 것이다. 특히 프롤레타리아 문학자인 히 라바야시 다이코를 대상으로 히라바야시 다이코의 문학이 초창기부터 젠더 격차를 해 소하기 위한 가능성의 문학으로서 출발하였다는 점을 그의 평론과 문학작품을 통해 분 석하였다. 구체적으로 히라바야시 다이코의 소설 「프롤레타리아의 별(プロレタリアの 星)」(『改造』, 1931)과 후속작인 「프롤레타리아 여자(プロレタリアの⼥)」(『中央公論』, 1932)와 같은 일련의 작품을 분석하여 히라바야시 다이코의 ‘여성작가’에 대한 인식이 구체적으로 어떻게 구현되는지 고찰하고, 히라바야시 다이코라는 여성작가의 문학세 계를 젠더의 시점에서 조명해보고자 하였다. 히라바야시 다이코는 문단에서 남성 작가가 아닌 동성의 여성작가들에 먼저 시선을 돌리고, 내부자적 시선으로 날카로운 비판을 가했는데, ‘여성작가’들에게 요청한 ‘프롤 레타리아 문학’, 현실에 기반한 ‘프롤레타리아 여성’의 상반된 모습을 두 작품을 통해 구 현했다고 파악하였다.
