The research is a phenomenological of the experience of remarriage and family life in South Korea by seven North Korean women. In this study, the contents of remarried family life of North Korean refugee women were analyzed by dividing them into marital, extended family, parent-child, and step-child, and the meaning they formed was described. Researchers analyzed and described data using the descriptive phenomenological research method proposed by Colaizzi (1978). As a result of data analysis, 28 sub-components case, which were aggregated into 11 Configuration Meaning. In four areas, the couple appeared to be the pressure of domestic economic sovereignty, the pressure of devoted women, and the bride of hidden secrets. In extended family, it appeared as a mouse hiding in barn, hiding the fairy’s wing, and a projectile from North Korea's attack. In the parent-child, it appeared as the ugly duckling among brothers, the burden or hump of the stepfather, and affection for a friend in North Korea. In her relationship with her stepdaughter, she appears as a reds mother, an incompetent and embarrassing mother. Based on the results of the study, discussions were made on anti-communism, where the patriarchal culture and power imposed on the research participants remain in our society, and on the continuous otherizatrion of North Korean women who defected from North Korea.

본 연구는 7명의 북한 출신 여성들이 남한에서의 재혼과 가족생활 경험에 대한 현상 학적 연구이다. 연구에서는 북한이탈여성들의 재혼 가족생활의 내용을 부부, 확대가 족, 친자녀, 계자녀로 나누어 분석했고 그들이 구성한 의미를 기술하였다. 연구자들은 Colaizzi(1978)가 제시한 기술적 현상학적 연구 방법으로 자료를 분석하고 기술했다. 자료 분석 결과 28개의 하위 구성 사례가 출현했고 이를 11개의 구성 의미로 결집했다. 4개의 영역에서 부부는 가정 경제 주권의 압력, 헌신적인 여성상의 압력, 감춰진 비밀 의 신부로 나타났다. 확대가족에서는 곳간에 숨어든 쥐, 선녀의 날개 감추기, 북한 공 격의 투사체로 나타났다. 친자녀에서는 형제들 속에 미운 오리 새끼, 계부의 짐 또는 혹, 북한에 있는 친구에 대한 애정으로 나타났다. 계자녀에서는 빨갱이 엄마, 무능하고 부끄러운 엄마로 나타났다. 연구 결과에 근거하여 연구참여자들에게 강요된 가부장적 문화와 권력이 우리 사회에 잔존하고 있는 반공주의와 북한이탈여성들에 대한 지속적 타자화에 대한 논의를 했다.
