The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of Korean language education in the Japanese secondary education system and to analyze the Korean language test of the Center Test, a common test for university admission in Japan, through the international standard Korean curriculum. To achieve this purpose, we investigate the data published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to examine the current status of Korean language education in Japanese secondary education centered on high schools. In addition, based on the Korean standard curriculum, the questions of the Korean language test included in the foreign language department of the center test from 2019 to 2022 are analyzed. This study showed the development of Korean language tests by contrasting them with early Korean language test questions. This study is meaningful in that it reviewed its identity through the analysis of data and questions and suggested a new direction for how the Korean Language Proficiency Test should exist and how it should develop.

이 연구는 일본 중등교육 시스템에서 한국어 교육의 현황을 살펴보고, 일본 대학입 학 공통시험인 센터시험의 한국어시험을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 먼 저 문부과학성이 발표한 자료를 조사하여 고등학교를 중심으로 한 일본 중등교육에서 한국어교육의 현황을 살펴본다. 또한 2019년부터 2022년까지 센터시험 한국어시험의 문항 분석을 통하여 한국어시험의 출제 기준 및 내용, 발전 양상을 고찰한다. 이를 통 하여 공통된 교육 과정의 부재가 원인이 되어 출제 기준 및 수준 설정과 평가 내용 구성 에 있어서 다소 문제점이 있음을 지적한다. 그리고 이러한 제도적 한계점을 극복하기 위하여 ‘한국어 표준 교육과정’을 참고할 것을 제안한다. 본 연구는 센터시험 한국어시 험의 발전상을 초기 한국어시험 문제와 비교하여, 문법중심 외국어 교육에서 의사소통 중심으로의 변화를 반영하여 발전 중임을 밝혀내었다. 또한 한국어시험 분석을 통해 그 정체성을 검토하고, 한국어시험이 어떻게 존재해야 하는지, 어떻게 발전해야 하는 지에 대한 방향성에 제언을 더했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
